Jazz findings.

Post#1 » by yonexpro1 » Sun Dec 12, 2010 6:32 am

so we are coming up on a third of the season being done. I just wanted to know what your feelings/thoughts are, and who you think this team can become given no further roster moves.

Now I might be a bit of a homer, but I really feel with the lakers decline we have a great chance of at least fetting into the WCF. I am not worried about Dallas even after the 2 losses, and aside from LAL and SA i dont really fear anyone. back to the point. Unlike a majority of you who feel we need a better SG, I disagree I think raja has done a wonderful job his 3ball is coming back he appears to be more comfortable in the offense and I think although he isnt a shut down defender anymore he has played great D this season even on rotations or switches the guy 9 times out of 10 will make the right decisions on defense. Mostly I like his fire, I think that he still has the passion eventhough he said he had matured in the summer. I was concerned about rebounding but lately not as much however Millsaps rebounding is worrisome the dude has been trash on the boards compared to previous yrs. Al hasnt been great but decent, he misses chipshots and what not but I feel like he tries and actually is fairly good in clutch situations. The rooks are coming along nicely wouldve liked gordon to be more of a factor but .. he is a rook so we give him time, I like what jeremy has been doing.

The bench has been somewhat a heart attack for myself personally. i like earl but his lack of shooting kinda obviously hurts us at times, I feel ronnie should play more he brings energy and thats all you can ask for a guy (to bust his aass) cj has been hit and miss elsons been great and thats about it.

The 2 things that have bothered me about jazz fans as of late though are the constant "we will be fine when memo comes back" and we miss matthews.

yes wes is having a great season thus far,and I dont think he could be allowed to do the same here, point blank get over it.

when memo comes back that does add firepower to the bench but we dont know if memo will be the same.

I think Memo will be the same. It's not like that injury should interfere with his specialty- shooting the basketball. He should still be able to drive like he started doing a lot more the last two seasons. I'm convinved that Memo will start at center and Millsap will come off the bench again when he comes back. Memo was always played well without Boozer but has had long stretches of consistency/inconsistency with Boozer. I'm expecting good things from Okur.

the other question when Memo will come back?

Again no information or timetable for his return.

Maybe he is out of the season? And we don't need to count on him?

I agree that shooting should be the same but not so sure about the driving part. I think he will be somewhat scared to drive for about a month into his return, why do you think he gets the start? I know sloan doesnt let players lose starting positions cause of injury, but I think this would be an exception. Also I think that his shooting ability would really be useful in the 2nd unit because for example when we played dallas both games they went into a 2-3 the second our bench got in the game (watsons lack of shooting, price doesnt really shoot3's that well, cj is the only bomber on that lineup and it depends on which cj shows up)
