Re: Deron Trades
Why does it have to be one or the other. Respect Sloan for what he brought to this team and now support the new coach and the whole team. Even its best player. Thats being a fan. Winning or not, the freedom we just gained from Sloan leaving could be huge. Maybe not but, at least its a new hope for every kind of player and talent. Not just so called Sloan talent. This could be fun to be a part of.

What's "the freedom we just gained from Sloan living"???
Jazzmen did not win any "aditional freedom" or regained some "lost freedom"; they've just lost a lot of character and their natural escape valve. Now players have all the wight on their shoulders... there are no more excuses... and public sarcasm is out of the question.
When did Williams realized he's not doing his job because he's playing crappy? And whose fault is now?

Sloan either quit like he admitted or lied about his real reasons.....either way he has been no angel and is at least partly to blame for the Jazz's woes this year...ppl are acting like they are Sloan fans and not Jazz fans.....
i know you guys are hoping for the best, but realistically, even though Deron got his way and is able to tell management what to do, Deron will leave Utah for a bigger market and team up with another super star, just like Lebron, Bosh, Shaq, Melo, Amare, Joe, Boozer, etc.
even the biggest Jazz and Deron fans will admit that Deron is not humble, and a small market team needs a humble super star to succeed, like Duncan, Stockton, Nash, Malone, etc

Re: Deron Trades
Malone didn't seem all that humble when he played here. His HOF speech was great but when he was playing he was a real cocky mother.

Yeah we should just trade him now for peanuts rather than wait and see what the new CBA is like.

Re: Deron Trades
I'd like to see him traded just because I can't stand him on a personal level, but that's a bad basketball decision. Smart move for management is obviously to try to convince him to stay.

Re: Deron Trades
First of all realistically its obvious williams isn't leaving anytime soon. If he was the FO would've shipped him a long time ago and kept Sloan. It's obvious Utah isn't planning on moving him unless they truly think they will lose him when his contract is up.
As for this thread, hypothetically, how would people feel on a trade centered around Steph Curry? Deron Williams is probably the only pg in the league that would actually fit next to Monta Ellis, except maybe a motivated Baron Davis, so I wouldn't be surprised if an offer was made. Of course A LOT more than Curry would be required to even tempt the Jazz but assuming the deal is being offered so that they could pair Ellis and Williams (as in Ellis is off the table), is there a trade that could satisfy both sides? Again this assuming maybe next year the Jazz fear Williams leaving for nothing and they make a move to grab some talent in return.
