Kemba back to school too?

Really why are all these players choosing to stay in school another year instead of opting to turn pro? Is there really going to be a lock out and they would rather live off the School Scholarships for another year and try to improve their chances at being #1 then turn pro and not sign a contract until maybe Feb?

Not a chance he returns. He got his championship, is a top 10 pick, and is going down in UConn history as one of their all time greats.

He literally has nothing to return for.

He would be lucky to go top 20 next year, he was already part of Senior night as a Junior as well, he's declaring.

Some players would be hurt by the lockout, some will be helped based on a too high draft position. Kemba is of the latter group as is Jimmer. Players will weigh the risk of having to train independently vs a guaranteed spot in college.

He's already the tournament MVP, he's a top 10 pick (won't be higher in next years draft,) and nobody wins the tourney twice in a row, especially when you are such a one star wonder like the Huskies are right now. Not to mention the coach is in trouble next season, and there is almost always a let down when you are under that much scrutiny.

His iron is as hot as it is ever going to be.

I was told unequivocally by a poster on here that none of the draft prospects were going to stay out of the draft because of the lockout! I guess I just miss the boat often. I'm working on getting better.

The point guards in this year's draft wouldn't be ranked as high as they are if guys like Wall, Rose, Curry and Evans had stayed in school for the full four years. It's too bad the NBA has allowed players to declare at such a young age. What I am saying so it's clear is I don't believe Irving, Walker and Knight would be top 10 PG draft choices if they had stayed longer and come out at the same time Wall, Rose and Evans came out if they had stayed in school. I don't think the Jazz should draft a point guard because none of those three are likely to sufficiently better than Devin Harris to matter much in the long run.

This is a weak draft. Some players will opt not to come out because of the lockout. Below 15 the choice to declare is going to be hard with a lockout looking strong.

Players above 15 have too much money on the table to sit back. Once they have an agent, the agent will loan them enough money to get by until the lockout is over. In other words, a little bling and a nice ride with some walking around money and they're good to wait it out. The agents will have them insured so permanent injury isn't as much of a risk. They'll be farmed out to development schools like the ones I've previously mentioned until the lockout is over. If the lockout looks like it will last a year, they'll be some Pro leagues put together on an informal basis.

Below 15 the agents won't be offering much loan money, and some players may improve on their positions by waiting. A player going from a 20th and below pick to 12th or better benefits by waiting.

Right now if the ping pong balls drop the Jazz way, I like Williams and then Burks. Without the break from the lucky draw, I prefer Kanter and Burks, unless Tomic comes over. While I don't think the Jazz need a point guard, the one thing I like about Walker is his age. He's only one class short of graduating early. He's a reasonably good student. I would go with him if the Jazz think he can play the SG position.

They'll be rumors and constant talk about who is declaring and who isn't right up until the deadline. Agents and coaches--a key factor--will be talking to GM's and scouts to gauge draft position. That's when the decisions are made. Then momma explains the money. The entourage's stoke the bling fire, and the agents offer the loans. So, we'll see.

I don't think Kemba will go back to college. UConn is facing some penalties/sanctions next year and he isn't going to improve his draft stock any more then it is at the moment.

I don't buy any of these projected top 10 guys to stay in school. There is absolutely nothing any of them can do to drastically improve their stock, the only thing they could possibly do is lower it or get hurt and drop completely out. It makes absolutely no sense for anyone who is a projected top 10 to go back to school whatsoever.

How exactly is Walker going to improve his stock? How would Irving or Sullinger? Williams too? Barnes? All won't/can't improve their stocks by going back to school. A good workout for some teams or a good showing at the combine will improve their stocks more than another full year at the college level; lockout or not.
