Im ok with it if there is a certain player or players the Jazz want 5th and 6th pick. I dont think we need to trade up to get Jimmer, but I actually really want Jimmer on the Jazz. We need a shooter even if he is only a 3rd guard. Whiteside has alot of potential with a 10 cent brain. He showed alot in preseason. Im not sure what the Kings get out of this? They get an undersized PF to team up with an undersized center but only drop 5 picks. They would do this trade if they feel there is really no one they want fromt his draft.

I think the Jazz want Jimmer very badly and are moving up to get him while drafting another player at 6th pick.

I doubt the Jazz do anything and just hope Jimmer falls to the 12th pick.

Jimmer is projected 15-18 on most boards, why would he "fall" to the 12th pick lol.

As someone else asked, where do you get the idea that the Jazz want Jimmer? Personally, I don't think the Jazz will draft him even if he is available at the #12. I guess we will see who is right.

Jonas Valanciunas - International prospect, he wont come for years because of the lockout.
Enes Kanter - How the heck is he a better option than Favors at center? Favors outweighs him by like 10lbs and is probably about 6'11" now, an inch taller.

Favors game is perfect for center. We should just move Jefferson to PF and Millsap to SF. We should focus on our guards in the draft.

Millsap is better right now than a lot of 5 picks ever turn out to be. I consider this a very lopsided deal.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Whiteside and the 5th for Millsap and the 12th?

Millsap >>>>>> Whiteside. And we already have a 5th/6th pick anyways.

Give us Thorton and the 5th and it's a deal.

Same thing I said when that King fan suggested that Utah fans liked the idea. I am assuming they feel as though Whiteside will be worth the long term investment. LMAO!! Dude is super raw on offense and his main attraction is having just athleticism and good shot blocking ability as a 7 footer and 235.

Thorton and the 5th is good value for Millsaps alone to me with Utah getting the better of the deal. Just so it would seem a bit even, the 12th would just be the extra incentive. I am a Hawks fan and I know that.

Considering how craptastic this years draft is, this trade would be one of the worst ever outside of anyone named Pau. Millsap would be an incredibly valuable trade piece if the Jazz were looking to trade him because his contract is very very good.

I must take issue with your comment that Millsap is not getting any better. On the contrary, he consistently improves as a player every season, adding whole skill sets to his game in the summer. I really can't believe you actually wrote that; someone must have 'jacked your RGM account.

I do agree, however, that his trade value may peak this off season. If the Jazz are inclined to move him (which I would not, unless they manage to land Williams in the draft) now may be the best time.

That said, the Kings trade is crap in all its forms. You just don't trade a young 18/9 veteran on a bargain contract who leaves it all on the floor every night, never gets hurt, plays smart, staffs multiple positions in your system, is a great locker room presence, and is only concerned about winning for some untested, unproven draft pick who may turn out to be a complete bust or bail at the first opportunity.

Unrelated: Toledo- Jimmer matches few of the qualities the Jazz look for in a player. Why do you (and many others) feel they are targeting him?

I'd take an unprotected 2012 pick from the Kings instead of their #6. That's a better draft and the Kings are definitely still going to suck.

Also... Whiteside blows, I don't like that kid's attitude. Said his role in the NBA was gonna be similar to KG in his draft interview, can't get on the court, looks just happy to be in the NBA at all instead of playing with and working like he has a chip in his shoulder. Has no skills other than shot blocking... he's a backup or a poor mans pryzbilla. No thanks. Now Thornton, he's the truth.

I know that Whiteside does not have a bad attitude, but his trade value is that of Fes's. I glossed over the 12th being involved when I first read this. Whiteside is cap filler with a glimmer of hope attatched.

I completely agree with Delaney. While Millsap may be finding ways to diversify his game, his best role is as a PF off the bench who can come in and abuse other benches. He struggles, and always will struggle against guys who are longer than he is, regardless of whether or not he is playing SF or PF. I don't think you get the most out of Paul by taking him away from the rim as an SF, and I certainly think there are better options out there if the Jazz are looking for a small forward. Millsap's best role will be that of a dominant 6th man in the mold of Manu Ginobili or Lamar Odom.

I think the Jazz are far better with Millsap coming off the bench to give the Jazz a terrifying PF/C rotation, I just don't know if he wants that. If he wants to be a starter, trading him might be our best option, and this off season might be the best time to do it.

The ideal situation is obviously Paul being a badass sixth man, but I've always been troubled by his answer to: "If Carlos Boozer is re-signed, will you ask for a trade?"

"I don't know," I believe he said. "I can't say."

I think the Jazz just need to tell Sap that he's going to be the 6th man and if he can't handle it then look to trade him....anyone that thinks that is a horrible idea, just pretend it's Big Al,AK or in the past DWIll saying they won't accept "their role" and see how you feel....IMHO Sap would be a GREAT 6th man
