Ahem.

Smart would be a smart choice. And he actually is pretty smart - he has a masters degree

Looks like we are interested in the St. Mary's coach but I have my doubts on a coach of a team that seems to always be in Gonzaga's shadow.

The Jazz should go throw a bunch of money at Brad Stevens and hire him as an assistant....

I think both Stevens and Smart are going to get out of the Utes league. Both Oklahoma and Tennessee are better jobs.

Sounds like Utes are interested in Larry "Fiery Competitor" Krystkowiak -- who apparently can't get his named spelled correctly by the RealGM wiretap.

Locke was really pushing Westminster's coach today. Can't remember his name off the top of my head. I do think that he should be looked at by Dr. Hill.

I think NAIA to Pac-12 is too big a jump. If I was a Big Sky or one of the bsketball only Eastern League AD I would say it's a fantastic idea.

Looks like krystko meth is the new I coach, hopefully he brings his college coaching skills from Montana to the hill and leaves his NBA coaching skills in new jersey.

As an outsider looking in on the Ute program, this hire makes absolutely no sense to me. The guy has absolutely zero connection to the program other than being a former jazz man for a short stint and coaching Bogut in MW for another short stint. He has been the definition of a coaching nomad. He had success at Montana....... Montana???

I don't see stability or inspiration in this pick. It looks like he knows how to coach a team of bright eyed kids that respond to his personality, but I don't really think that is what Utah needs going into the Pac12. What he has in coaching, he seems to seriously lack in recruiting and scouting abilities. They could have had that from Connor, and a lot more with fan and former player support and major local tie-ins. I just don't get it. I guess Hill is really swinging for the fences on this one...

I don't think it is a good hire either. It confuses me a bit as well.

Butler made 3 shots inside of the three point line for the entire game.

That was incredible to watch. So painful, you really had to feel bad for the Butler fans that probably thought they had a great chance at halftime. Talent won over.

Sorry for the necro-post, but since there was a fair amount of discussion earlier in this thread about the Brandon Davies incident I thought I'd post a link to this article from the SL Trib:

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/51665 ... s.html.csp

I think it's a fair look at some questions a lot of us have asked.

I hated the honor code. It wouldn't let me grow a beard... :x
