First off.... I like Brandon Knight a lot, and I believe that in 2 or 3 years we might be looking at him as the best PG in this draft. That being said, as I look at this draft I just don't see the Timberwolves drafting another SF (Derrick Williams) after taking Johnson last year, and that leaves them drafting Kanter or Biyombo. That leaves us with Derrick Williams. Who I don't like a ton but I would be okay with getting. With Cleveland at #4 they will take whoever is left out of Williams, Kanter, and Biyombo after having drafted Irving #1.
Now, if Toronto or Washington is in love with any of those three, (Williams, Kanter or Biyombo) but for arguments sake lets leave the discussion with Williams. We offer Williams to Toronto for their next years #1 pick and this years #5. We then take Brandon Knight. I think Toronto would do it, I also think Washington would do it. If either of them want to do it but hedge on some sort of protection, perhaps we give them the right to swap with our GSW pick or our own pick. I would love to get another top #5 pick next year.
Dream scenario:
#3 Derrick Williams to
for
#6 Brandon Knight, #18 pick this year, and right to swap picks next year.
Then, we give the #18 pick to Minnesota to get our rights to our own back in the future, or sell it.

I'd much rather keep Williams. I don't love Knight, and we'll need a SF as there's a possibility AK doesn't resign and I like Heyward as a shooting guard. A very tall shooting guard.
Favors Jefferson Williams
Harris Heyward

He has said he wants to play SF in the NBA. He has range, but can go down low and do dirty work if he needs like Paul Millsap. He definitley has more range than Millsap though.

Are you cracked-out? Toronto is not trading the #5 plus a top-10 pick in next years loaded draft to move up to #3 in this **** draft. I agree that the Jazz trading-down with the Raptors is logical (if Utah wants Knight), but you are dreaming if you think you are going to get an additional first-rounder out of this.

I think it is possible, if the decision the Raptors or Wizards are making is between swapping w us the GSW pick and their pick. If they really like D Williams that is not an unreasonable trade. I think it is more likely to be something in play for the Wizards though because I think they are closer to a move up in the standings. Wall will have the typical higher success rate this year in his 2nd year playing, and the D Williams really helps them move forward.
I bet their pick will end up in the 7-10 range. If that is where they think they will end up, it makes sense to move up while also protecting it top 3. If that is the case I think the trade could be this years, #6, #18 or #34, and then next year swap top 3 protected.
I think a Washington would really have to consider it, but the Jazz only would if Knight is still there at #6.

Toronto is going to want brandon Knight. Bayless is not a PG and Calderon is always injury prone and might be breaking down soon. I don't think you can trade down for him so just draft him.
