Re: deron trade revisited?
If Deron was planning on staying long term no way do we do that trade. The guy is a star and would have been the anchor for years to come. The trade right now looks good, but the guys need to pan out first. Also the future pick is top 7 protected and from GSW. There is a chance its just an end of the lottery pick next year.

Re: deron trade revisited?
If we think Deron was gonna left our team in 2012, to have Favors, Harris, #3 and a top 7 protected from GSW is pure genius.
But we'll never know what Deron would have done. Seems like he is happy in NJ, and some people pointed he didn't wanted to be there.... you never knows.

Re: deron trade revisited?
Obviously it depends on how these picks pan out, including Favors.
If three years from know we turned Deron into a Durant/Westbrook/Harden type combo, the Jazz got one of the all time steals.
You just never know with picks though, however I think the Jazz have put themselves in a very good position to at least get equal value back.

Re: deron trade revisited?
You know what, I probably would. Favors + Harris + 2011 #3 + GS 2012 pick gives us a lot more depth.
There is a small chance, but a chance that we get Derrick Williams with the #3 pick, OR we could probably trade for it, since the Wolves have Love/Beasley/Johnson already at PF/SF. Favors/Jefferson/Williams/Hayward/Harris would be a solid lineup, with Okur, Millsap, Kirilenko, Miles, and Watson off the bench. More likely is the case of getting a PG, Knight could be a stud, and would start for us pretty soon. Regardless, we'd have a great PG coming off the bench.

You can watch it too as in 2012 nothing or Favors, Harris and #3 and future GSW 1st top 7 protected. So they are better than nothing, of course. A lot better.
