Frickin Flash Banner Ads on RealGM

Post#1 » by finnegan » Thu May 19, 2011 3:18 pm

I am a little stunned that RealGM allows their advertisers to have such amazingly annoying ads that expand to take over your screen, and won't let you click on anything.

If you click to "close" the ad, it opens it half the time. There are ad-blocker plug-ins for IE and Firefox, but sometimes they disable certain features in other tools like email.

I don't know if the powers that be ever peruse forums, but if they do then PLEASE stop these super annoying ads from expanding.

Actually, the powers that be are very sensitive to issues like this. It seems that advertisers sneak them in. There is a constantly updated thread in the mod forum that deals exactly with these issues as teh powers that be continuously try to purge annoying adds from the site.

I understand the level of annoyance, I hate talking ads myself.

Just wanted you to know that it's not something that is being ignored.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

FireFox pluggins do work nicely, but then I have to enable flash for every other site I visit.

The ad on NBADraft.net with Kevin Durrant is even more annoying than the M&M ad here.

What are the Marketer's thinking??? That they will annoy you to death into buying their products?

Intrusive advertising is on it's way out. Companies that keep embracing it will regret it.

I use Firefox almost exclusively, I have no problems with with flash.
once in a great while i run across a site or article that doesn't like FF, but that aggravation is a lot less than all the b.s. associated with IE.
