I'm a big fan of Singletons. He is a terrific defender and has a great NBA body with NBA athleticism. The problem is that he isn't going to give you much outside shooting or offense which is something the Jazz are going to need to address at some point this off season whether it be through the draft or FA. I can't say that I would be mad if we took him at 12 though, I'm perfectly fine with drafting a player who gives us more length, athleticism and defense.

My other options at 12 would be...
Jimmer Fredette (my pick personally if he is there)
Jordan Hamilton (scoring/shooting SF)
Klay Thompson (great shooter, questionable if he can make the switch to the NBA though)
Tristan Thompson (great upside SF/PF but is smaller than expected...)

I don't think Burks will be there at 12. I have him going somewhere between picks 8 and 11.
Jerry Sloan >>>>>>>> Everything else.

Marshon has volume scorer and "big numbers on bad team" written all over him. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole.

i could see that but there is something about the way he plays that makes me think differently. he looks like he has great control and he's very methodical. reminds me of john salmons. that could be good or bad.

I'm not worried about character issues with Thompson, the 12 pick traditionally is a crapshoot, might as well go for broke. Plus I don't think they are serious issues.

I just did a mock of the first 12 picks. Surprisingly, Burks fell to #12.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I actually feel that Thompson will be a good kid throughout his career. He learned early and is already fearing how much this will affect his draft stock, I think he seriously thinks twice before doing it again. IMO, that's better that one of these other prospects who probably does drugs and has never gotten caught..

My point is that it's not a big issue.

If Burks, Montiejunas, or others don't drop. I would strongly consider Jimmy Butler at #12. Guy is a hard worker and despite being a senior, is younger or some juniors such as Singleton. Butler is a gamer and he tested well athletically at the combine.

I can almost guarantee that of Thompson, domo, burks and singleton, one of them will be available.

I think the big dropper will be Motiejunas and if he gets beyond the Jazz I see him dropping to a pick that is low 1st or early 2nd. The middle of the first is a bad spot for international guys because they can make more than the rookie scale in Europe.
