Vesely advanced stats:

Defensive rebounding rate: 8.2% (Reference, Valanciunas had a 31.4% D rebounding rate in same league, Bell had an 8.4% D rebounding rate in NBA last year)

Offensive rebounding rate: 7.2% (Reference, Valanciunas had a 14.2 O rebounding rate, AK had a 6% O rebounding rate in NBA last year and career O rebounding rate of 7.2% , Millsap had an O rebounding rate of 7.5% last year and has a career O rebounding rate of 11.1%)

Vesely's team was 3.1 points per 100 possessions better on offense when he was in the game

Vesely's team was 1.1 points per 100 possessions worse on defense when he was in the game

So his team was 2 points per 100 possessions better with him on the court.

This dude doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard NBA threes, even if he has a bunch of hops. He can't shoot, and he doesn't have good ball handling skills. I'm not sold at all.

I think the mavericks / bulls series against the heat also demonstrates that if you're team isnt stacked with superstars like the lakers, you HAVE to be able to hit perimeter shots. You have to be able to punish those teams, and lacking any superstars at the moment, I would say the Jazz can't spend the #3 pick on a 2 or 3 who can't shoot. #12, sure, but we need more from the #3.

It's really early to think about championship pieces, but we should at least give ourselves a chance.

Looks like an AK clone minus AK's fabulous skill set.

He looks like AK minus the shot blocking, perimeter defense, ball handling and passing.
