There ain't no way this deal happens. I believe the un-matching salaries is the biggest holdup.

If I'm doing a Mathews to Utah trade, I'd be looking for Millsap as the return and not Harris.

I like Harris too, but Portland needs big man help desperately.

I could see Portland doing a deal with Matthews/Harris for they'd move
Nicolas Batum to SG to replace Matthews.

Yeah close..but that would be quite the downgrade especially how well favors was playing for us. Basically trading a good SG for a good PF and we get much older with Andre Miller. I think Favors is near untouchable now.

I believe some Jazz fans have the mindset where Favors is untouchable and that he is expected to be a surefire all-star because that's what they want to believe, since he was traded for your former all-star PG... Forcing themselves to believe that Favors has similar value to D. Williams.

Matthews, at this point, contributes more to a team than does Favors. Both haven't even shown what their full potential is yet, either. It all comes down to what the Jazz need more.... a raw NBA sophomore PF or an already great SG with the potential to become a lot more?

^^^ Not even close to a fair comparison^^^

Matthews was a FOUR year collage player and is much closer to his max career level than Favors is.

Matthews turns 24 in October

Favors turns 20 in July

At Favors current size and with the progress he made through out his rookie year would you really expect the Jazz to trade for the player that contributes now or the one that is part of the current rebuilding process.

On a personal not I would never trade big for small in this situation. If you are going to trade big for small you need to get an all-star like the Nets did.

I'd say most of the rational Blazer fans are aware how insulting Devo's trade offer is for the Jazz, flat out horrible. As for the a trade based around Harris/Matthews I think they have similiar values. I dunno if I'd want the Blazers to do it though, Wes was one of the bright spots on the team and sadly way better then what we get from Roy now.

exactly thank you, I don't see the blazers trading one of their best players now unless they got more in return. Sad we went with Bell instead of Matthews but it was a tough call to match back then at that price.

I'm a life long Blazer fan who moved to SLC about 16 months ago.
Do to local media coverage and the fan support of most my friends I've taken a little more interest in the Jazz lately. I have also been consistently impressed with how knowledgeable UT fans are.
With that in mind... What would Jazz fans think of this?

A.Miller, L. Babbitt, and R. Fernandez
for
D. Harris

Thoughts? I really only like this for UT if they take Knight 3rd as I think Miller would be an incredible 1 year tutor for him. Last year around this time i remember hearing how much the Jazz liked Babbitt, and with the possible departure of AK he could fill the role of combo forward off the bench (albeit in a very different way). Rudy gives you a much better option at SG than Bell and could give the Jazz some much needed punch off the bench. Additionally Miller and Harris' #'s are similar. Harris is of course much younger, Miller is a better leader and winner. I think that the difference in age has less meaning if you view Harris as a stop gap to a Brandon Knight led back court. Please post what you think.

It was rumored that the Jazz liked Babbitt but after this last season I don't think that they would anymore if it was true a year ago.

The problem with all of this D. Harris trade talk is that he has a trade restriction for 1 year.

That is only if he is traded with multiple players, he can still be sent out alone.
