Tony Parker

Post#1 » by zachjazzface » Wed Jun 22, 2011 2:23 am

The Spurs are reportedly looking for offers for Tony Parker so that they can have a high pick in this year's draft. Would the Jazz be interested in trading the #3 or maybe like a Harris and #12? I would be very happy with Parker on the Jazz

No way. The way Parker has been talking about his team as of late really confirms my iffy-ness towards him. He still has something to contribute but I don't want his off-court antics interfering with the development of younger players.

I really am just weary of the Jazz taking on any large contracts during a rebuild.

That's one of those where I say thanks but no thanks.

Although, I'm intrigued by the move...I wonder who the Spurs like so much.

I'd rather have Devin Harris if I wanted a big contract with those numbers.

#3 plus Harris and rights to Miles for Parker plus future #1 would be nice trade for Utah. Parker knows how to play and is not that old. It makes the Dwill trade look real good as well.

we would have gotten Parker, Favors,, and GSW pick for Dwill and some might think Parker as good as Dwill. Jazz do this trade then gauranteed playoffs next year.

Building with just young inexperienced players doesnt always work (see GSW and Twolves but has worked for OKla City). You need veterans in the mix. Parker has personal issues, but on the court he makes his teammates better which Harris does not do whatsoever.

PG Parker Watson Jimmer (12th pick)
SG Hayward Price Jimmer
C Jefferson Memo Fess Elson
PF Favors Millsap Evans
SF AK-47 (re-sign) Millsap Evans

Top 4-5 seed in west and team could be contender depending on Favors/Haywards development.

I am not saying I do it for sure, but it is definitely something I would have to consider.

Fes--good for a few cheap thrills and a laugh or two!

No disrespect to fantasy island, but Parker ain't coming for you.

Not interested. Parker would make us better right now, but not enough to justify giving up such a valuable asset for our future. Even with Parker on the roster, I think we'd still be a fringe playoff team at best. Maybe we could sneak in and lose in the first round, but that's about it. We'd get better the next few years, but Parker's 29 now and by the time Favors and Hayward are starting to hit their primes, he'd definitely be on the downside of his career, especially considering how much he relies on his speed and how shaky his jumper is. Three, four years down the road, I'd much rather have Knight or whoever we draft at three and Harris or (more likely) whatever we can get for Harris.

I'm also not interested.. age, contract, CBA issue.. we already have a PG..

San Antonio is aging quickly, so are the Lakers and both are facing a pretty bad situation if this hard cap goes into effect. No reason to bail them out and end up with Parker who has decent mileage. Jazz can do cheaper/better.

I would rather have a legless miget play pg for us rather than trade for parker at this point. He played like dog **** vs the grizzlies (eva got his head gone), he's guarenteed for 12.5 mil for each of the next 3 season and were not contending anytime, and no eva in the stands. Tell the Spurs they can go **** themselves.

According to Draftexpress the Spurs just offered the Jazz George Hill for the 12th pick....that's extremely tempting...even if Jimmer is on the board. I love George Hill.
