Jeremy Evans makes an impact at Impact Vegas.

Post#1 » by Xsy » Fri Sep 23, 2011 6:05 am

Apparently, people are learning that Jeremy Evans is an NBA player that can jump. Old news for us, but whatever, I'm a fan of Evans getting some attention, even if it is just from a summer league. I haven't seen any box scores or anything, but my friend from Vegas was really impressed him. Said he was responsible for the two most entertaining moments of the day.

If any of y'all can find the scores or anything, post 'em, will ya?

There's also a couple of videos up on Youtube already.

Jeremy Evans put back dunk over Samardo Samuels.

Even more dunk highlights here. Starting at :20.

Impact basketball also says to expect more Jeremy Evans footage via twitter.

Dear Jazz fans, enjoy the Jeremy Evans highlight real from @Ballislife or @Hoopmixtape tomorrow.

So stay tuned for that. Evans is also getting tons of love from Twitter.

Michael Lee
This Jeremy Evans kid is something else. Tapped a rebound off the rim, came down, jumped back up & dunked it 2 hands.

Jazz secret is out. RT @basketballtalk: I am officially a big Jeremy Evans fan now. New dunk of the day. The No. 55 pick can flat out play.

Jeremy Evans is like Tigger. He's just...bouncy.

Nice. I think he could translate into an incredible help side defender, too. He played center in college, and he has good timing. As AK moves out, I hope he can cover that hold on defense for a few minutes a night.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

And don't forget, he plays a mean game of HORSE!

If he adds a realiable jumpshot (and some muscle), we might have something really special.......

I'm a Wizards fan who just came over because I saw the Evans highlights from Impact. Jeremy looks like an incredibly exciting athlete. What does his scouting report look like?

Pros:
Can jump out of the gym
Long and athletic
Seems intelligent, personable, and most importantly, coachable
Knows his role on the court and plays to his strengths

Cons:
Needs work on every aspect of his offensive game except dunking
Needs to improve his overall basketball IQ, i.e. where to be on the court and how to function in the team setting
Needs to work on his man and help defense
Needs to bulk up somewhat, but not much as I see his lean, quick frame as his major asset

If he can learn when and where to cut, I could see him being a good 6th man or starter. He's just like unstoppable in the paint with his length and explosiveness. If the NBA gets rid of offensive goaltending like rumored, he could be even better.

That first put-back dunk would have been a top 3 play of the year had it been during the regular season. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before...

The kid can jump. If he gets a consistent jump shot then he could be a great contributor off the bench. He is never going to have the size or strength to guard the bigger guys down in the post but his length and amazing athletic ability will allow him to be a great garbage guy on offense and help defender. I could see him partially taking over AK's role (weak side D and offensive garbage points) if we let him walk.

I've always been a fan of him so it's really awesome to see him improving and getting so much love.
