.What is a fair Deal for the owners and players? 50-50?

Post#1 » by Hoops Addict » Fri Oct 7, 2011 2:30 pm

I think 50-50 is a fair deal.

The owners are getting screwed with the 57-43 deal. Only the big market teams make a lot of money.

The average salary for a NBA player is about $5.5M? That is huge.

I vote for a 50-50 deal.

This is a good article covering what's going on. The video by Broussard, I think, is informative.

51%...is fair maybe 52%.

57% is ridiculous. Is it more of a business then a game is the issue.

It more of a business for both the players and the owners and no longer a game for the fans.

The game and the fans are the real losers...what percent to we the fans get back?

The owners get 50% and the players get 50% ....what percent does the game get and the fans get in all this?

How about a 25% split all around!? That's fair...to me. The players decide what % the agents get.

At any percentage between say 40-60% either party is living a very lavish lifestyle. IMHO this is not about fair, this is a business deal. The goal of business is to maximize proceeds. I don't deal with sums of money on that scale, so I can't even begin to fathom what is a good business deal for one side or the other. A fraction of what these guys make would feel very comfortable and fair to me.

I think fair would be that fans get cheaper entertainment

The owners at 53% have a much better deal than last year. If Im an owner I would do 51-52% then tell the fans that the owners value the fans more than the players so we caved a little. Then next collective bargaining when the league will be making more money I would play extreme hard ball at 48% and the fans would blame the players and might even pay to watch scabs play in their stead.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!
