also my first choice when it comes to this "sumer", we dont have to throw lot of money for Reggie and i think that he would by perfect acquisition for our team, i'm only worry that O'Connor will try to save some small cash and instead of signing good shooter for that 4/5 mln$ we gonna throw 1/2 mln$ in mud by signing some scrub, same situation was last year with Bell :-?
UTJazzFan_Echo1 wrote:Not sure why everyone is saying Burks can shoot when he wasn't a very good outside shooter for his entire college career... just because you guys saw him shoot lights out in a charity game doesn't mean he can shoot.
i also try to understand why peps are repeating that crap about his shooting, all scouts where saying that his long range is very inconsistent, so its not that he completely cant shoot but probably he will not be any time soon a 40% beyond arc shooter, he will have games exactly like Cj, one day he will hit 4/5 long bombs and next day 4/5 bricks.

ps. i really expect from KoC some seriously good acquisition, today Suns sign Brown for 3,5 mln$, Mike Dunleavy is reported to by acquire by Bucks for same cash so as we see its not impossible to get nice player for reasonable mo

Burks isn't a great shooter, but even at Colorado he was a threat if left open. If he gets his feet set he's decent.

Hayward shot 43% from the three point line last year...... That's not average by any stretch of imagination.......

Wrong. Gordon Hayward shot 47% from 3 last year. As well as 48.5% overall. That's pretty obscene for a wing.

I stand corrected.......

There's about 6 other teams in the hunt for Josh Howard. Jazz won't waste their money, and they shouldn't.

well Howard is a moron but still very talented one, so on one hand i would say no but on other it would be very interesting to take a risk

Meh, not the kind of guy that would fit in here, nor a guy that I'd wanna eat up the MLE with, especially when he'd clog the development of CJ/Burks.

I just had a terrying thought for the "Athletic Shooter"....It cant be Vince Carter? Miles and Carter on the court at same time would represent a complete chuck it up fest.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Carter is actually an underrated playmaker....... People don't give him enough credit for that part of his game.......

As much as carter doesn't fit in utah at all. I would jump for joy if we signed him. He could teach the youngins a bit. Plus he still is fairly clutch.

The only thing CJ's developing is carpel tunnel.

I think CJ is done developing. I know some of you are disappointed, but his tits are the size they are.

You really should just let the kids play.

Get Hayward, Burks, Kanter and Favors firing. Tank it this season, draft another top player and then start to build.

Follow the OKC forumla and you will be competing soon enough.

Jason Richardson would be a good pickup.

Problem is that all the contenders are chasing him hard.

James is right. Let the young kids play. I'd bet that this team as it sits is a playoff team. If not then 2 picks is that much better. One of Barnes, Perry or Miller would make this team a contender in 2 yrs or less. Let then grow and find their games this yr, add a stud in the draft and slam the peddle to a championship...........

The problem with the "play the kids and let the season tank so we can get a good draft pick" is completely counter to the winning culture the Jazz have. There is no way the team can "tank" this season and then turn around and expect to compete the following year. I thought that is what many said about last year. Continue the culture of winning and avoid the culture of losing if at all possible.

100% of Jazz fans prefer the "culture of winning". The problem is that many consider it to be a thing of the past.

At some point, it becomes an exercise in futility, and it is just best to re-tool. I am willing to wait for 1/3rd of this season to make a judgment, but if they look as awful as they did during the end of last season then they should trade Milap, Harris, and Big Al or picks and prospects.
