Bring back Jerry Sloan and this signing is pure gold...Howard needs to the direction and discipline to make him a good player.

at 3 M it's a risk we can afford. If he is a distraction, send him at end of the bench and give all the time to CJ, Hayward and Burks.

Bell will not be starting....

If he is....Corbin should immediately be replaced.

This signing makes me believe the Jazz have more confidence about the team than we had maybe previously thought.

A team that doesn't think they have a shot at the playoffs doesn't make this deal, they hand it over to the young guys and hope for the best. This looks like a deal done by a team that thinks they'll be fighting for a possible playoff birth midway through the season and thinks having a veteran and an extra defender may pay dividends as the season winds down.

Also, if they are out of the playoff picture come the trade deadline, his expiring contract makes him attractive in the trade market, potentially teamed up with Millsap or Jefferson or Harris to a team trying to move over the top.

The Raptors are predicted to finish with a top 5 pick for sure, but I'm not sure the Jazz players who have two or more years of experience are really better than the Raptors players who have two or more years of experience. I don't see how they possibly think they're going to contend.

Really, you don't feel like a line up of Millsap, Jefferson, Memo, Harris, Bell, Howard, and Watson is better than Calderon, Bargnani, Barbosa, Kleiza, DeRozan? I don't think it's close. Plus the Jazz have WAY more upside with the young guys, who will contribute a ton. The Jazz as a group or in any other way are heads and shoulders above the Raptors. Bad comparison...

I hope we see Howard play well and become a trade piece before the deadline.

Move Howard and Millsap/Jefferson for something awesome.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.
