Kanter had a rough night scoring the ball but I like his footwork and he knows how to use his wide body. In time I see him being a good offensive player and a dominant rebounder. I like how he and Favors compliment each other too, those guys will be a great combo for years to come.

I'd keep Millsap, his contract as fine and he is valuable off the bench. Getting big Al out of town should be the absolute priority right now, like tomorrow. Team has a nice foundation, once you find a young PG to add with these guys you'll be set.

and thats why you are not in his shoes :P

plus after reading first few pages of that game topic i have, with sadness, ad that i understand why no one give a dam what fans are saying "throw Miles and Bell to the dump and let our new young and fresh boys Burks, HAyward play" after watching that game i can clearly say that duo Raja Cj play better than Burks and Hayward, so for goodness sake stop and i mean really stop being so childish :-?

Hard to take anything away from the game, the team j's a mess, but optimistically I'll say this.

Nothing I saw from Burks or Kanter leads me to believe they aren't legit NBA players going forward. Kanter's rebounding looked really good, he might just be one of those natural rebounders that come along every once in a while.

Burks looks like once he figures out when to attack, and when to use his energy he'll be a player in the league.

Hayward looked strange, but I expected that, he has weird pressure on him this season to take over the team, and what can you say about Favors. There is no reason he shouldn't do that every time he's on the floor.

While Portland made some tough shots, they missed a lot of wide open ones. Our rotations looked horrible. Our offense looked horrible for most of the game. Kanter looked like Boozer out there, struggling against taller and longer players. Favors was awesome, everyone else was average to bad.

It's not a good sign to lose by 20 vs a team without their former 1st and 2nd option in Roy and Aldridge.
Sure it's a preseason game. Sure we miss Millsap too. Still it's too much and every day i'm less sure Corbin it's the guy.

Preseason = preseason.

I've never understood why Jazz were so committed to Corbin. Should have gotten Adelman when he was available.

Im sure this will become a recurring theme this season.

Honestly, the first quarter was the only part that was ridiculously bad.

Portland outscored Utah by 13 points.

Second quarter, Utah outscored Portland by 1.

Third, Portland by 6.

Fourth, Portland by 2.

I know, I know, even if we didn't go down by 13 points in the first quarter, we still probably would have lost. But it wasn't nearly as bad as a loss as the score looks. Coaches aren't using proper lineups for preseason-- Corbin isn't the best coach, but he's not a bad enough coach to use this lineup for the real season.

I expect a much better game from our guys tomorrow.

My grades for the game:

Corbin: D - Come on, Memo guarding Gerald Wallace. R U kidding me?

Starters
Memo: C Ran the floor well, but very rusty, and didn't get into the offense.
AJ: D Still will not pass out of the double team, 3 rebounds, no hussle, 1 block
CJ: C- Lacked intensity, looked like the same CJ to me, Portland guards went off
Bell: D- Was he even on the court, only remeber him ruinning through the defender once.
Harris: D 3 Assists, beat of the dribble at will by Felton Spemsor...yes Felton Spensor

Reserves
Favors: A Worked hard on both ends of the floor, and looked more seasoned than last year.
Hayword: C Hussled and worked hard, but shot was very rusty, and was beaten on D many times
Evans B+ Hussled, played pretty good D, needs more time on the floor....energy guy
Canter C Beast on the boards, very nice to see a Jazzman box out, needs more time offensively
Burks B Very good penetration, athletic, good passes, defense needs work, but made an effort
Watson B+ 5 Assists, at least tried to run the offense, played pretty good D

The only logic I can see in that rotation was putting two squads on the floor to see what holes they have so you can find the right combination of players once the season starts. The odds of seeing that lineup on opening day is next to none.

The Blazers only didn't outscore the Jazz more in the third because they were trying ridiculous alley-oops since the game was over and they went cold shooting wide-open threes.

I think he was like, vets its yours til you lose it. Problem is they got embarassed. They cant give up, they just cant be a cohesive unit aside from the youngsters.
