It has to be Al. If not for him the game gets away from us in the 3rd qtr. Had nice defensive plays in the 4th too.

Big Al and Harris played well and are the obvious choices but Howard made the plays on both ends that win the game! Howard!

The difference between this "good" game by Al and one of his bad games was that his shot was falling. He took the same shots he always takes, he still made poor decisions when faced with a double- or triple-team and he still didn't get to the line. If Al plays like he played tonight more often than not his team loses.

No one on this board has said Al is a "cancer." He's a great guy with a good attitude. His game just isn't conducive to winning basketball games, especially with this group.

I liked how the Jazz used Al this game. Most of the time they'd run something and if they didn't get anything they'd give Al the ball down low. He made buckets, played some good d, give him credit.

I agree. I like Big Al as a person but he is one of the dumbest players I have ever seen! I doubt he gets any smarter as he has been in the league a long time already.

I cringed when Jefferson took most of his shots.

Lucky for us, they were falling.

Jefferson will continue to impress.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

If Al had been hitting at his normal rate, he would have gone 9-18 and had 18 points. That's just 1 point per shot with no free throws, if you can't do the math. Al was great in this particular game and he even managed to play some solid defense at times, but HappyProle and The59Sound are spot on. If a few of Al's shots that fell hadn't fallen, he would have had yet another ostensibly productive, but inefficient game. Nobody's perfect, but a lot of guys play efficient, intelligent and win-producing gamges on the basketball court and Al doesn't. One game can't change that.

Howard played hard at both ends. I doubt we win this game withou his energy.
