Wayyyy to soon. Teams are still just figuring out who they are. I'll be much more interested in March.

I thought that Minny got our pick ( the Jazz pick, not the GSW pick) if the Utah pick falls out of the lottery. Is our protection of that pick more than that?

This. Draft order will likely change quite a bit, as well as where teams ultimately finish.

Also, if Utah's pick falls at 16, we lose it to T-Wolves. Top 14 protected.

At the current rate, the Jazz might not have a first round pick in 2012. As stated, way too soon to tell.

I have more fun covering the draft than anything else all year long. Last year was so much fun down the stretch seeing where our pick would end up. That last second Kobe shot that gave Sacramento a loss when they had the game rapped up, and moved them into the 5th pick and moved us to 6th broke my heart.

Then the excitement of moving up to #3 in the draft. The ups and downs of who was going to enter the draft (still wish Barnes entered... I think we would have got him or Derrick Williams if Barnes entered).

I want that again selfishly. My favorite scenario is barely missing the playoffs and having our own pick miraculously fall in the top three. The most dramatic scenario would be to have the GSW sit at 7 and thus out of reach until lottery night and have our pick jump to top 3 be the thing that moves the GSW pick to 8, and landing us their pick.

Then we pick Barnes, and Sullinger etc.

I love the draft.

Some will say... make the playoffs... I don't care for the next two years. If we are ever going to contend we need a super star and I think Favors can be, but I think Barnes is that guy in the upcoming draft.

Like I said I love the drama of the draft.

Having a chance at lottery picks makes the NCCA tournament more fun, and all the speculation more fun, and summer league etc. I also think we need one more guy....

If GS lands a pick in the top 7, and we lose out, the pick is theirs ...even if they get pushed back to 8.

And what are you basing this on? Do you have a link? As far as I can tell, it's top 7 protected. Period. That means that GS could be 13th, but if they luck their way into the top 3, we lose the pick. It also means that if they were to get pushed out of the top 7, we'd get it. If you know of any info that says otherwise, sharing is appreciated.
