This really isn't close. The Jazz are right around average in defensive rating right now, which is below where we were as a team during these years. Usually we finished between 10th and 14th.

And for as bad as Boozer and Okur were at helping out their teammates and protecting the rim, they were both solid man-to-man defenders, and Boozer spent much of his career as the premier defensive rebounder at the PF position. Big Al, on the other hand, is probably the worst defensive player in the group, despite anecdotal proof that he "tries harder." He's implicitly admitted that he doesn't rotate on purpose because he "doesn't trust his teammates" and there is a reason why he has had one of the worst defensive +/- in the game over the last half decade. He's terrible.

Meanwhile, the Boozer/Okur combo was probably the best offensive frontcourt in the league during the 07 and 08 seasons. This group of guys is barely above average offensively.

Its really no contest. Although if we can keep winning 60% of our games (unlikely), then I may have to eat my words a little.

Jefferson-Millsap-Favors and Kanter are averaging 46 points per game.

In 07-08 Boozer-Okur-Millsap and Collins were averaging 45 points per game
In 06-07 Those four were 47

You will never sell me that Booze and Memo were better defenders than what I've seen on the court this year. Booze and Memo were two of the worst man to man defenders and would get lit up by not only the elite but by the scrubs.

We doubled anyone. Maybe it was Sloan's assinine defensive system that contributed to it. Switching to pushing the guard penetration out instead of in has really helped. Ty's best call so far.

It's hard to say this early. Sample size is way too small to even attempt to compare with stats. Pull them out in a year or so.

favors and kanter are extremely raw.... Sap and big Al have still room to improve, where Memo is on the downside and Booz already peaked. They were a force offensively, but i stay with the young fellas and their D.
