Nice name. Earl Watson won this game. If you want to blame anyone, blame your coaching staff for gifting the Jazz 3 FTs by getting their panties in a bind over a steal. I guess they forgot that you had 6 less fouls in our own building.

You also stopped going to your bigs. That was stupid.

I don't get why Potato Head over on the Laker bench exploded. What, a 10 FT advantage on the road wasn't enough for him?

this is from ben bagley's google+
We Are Utah Jazz
This is not just the motto for this team, it is the way they live. It’s been amazing to watch this team. It really has. I’ve been in the Jazz locker room for a decade now and have seen locker rooms with John Stockton and Karl Malone, Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer, but never a locker room this close.
It’s true.
These guys are as united of a locker room as I’ve ever seen. It’s Jefferson telling Favors and Kanter that they are the future of this Jazz team taking them under his wing and spending time every day working with them on their post moves. It’s Earl Watson leading a young bench unit and the locker room with his veteran savvy and experience. It’s the unselfishness shown by each guy to cheer on their team mate even when that team mate is taking minutes away from them.
It’s Jamaal Tinsley who plays 45 minutes all season, then 38 in the absence of Watson and Harris, then 0 tonight, but still makes a huge impact on the game. Tinsley took Kanter aside outside the Jazz locker room at half time and showed the young big man the secret to defending the spin move. Kanter had been beat twice in the first half by Bynum spinning and getting the lob pass. Tinsley explained to him that he needed to center himself behind Bynum, that way if he spun he’d spin into Kanter not around him. The result, no lobs for Bynum in the second half.
This is special to watch.

That is a really good post by Bagley. I get the feeling though, and maybe it is personal bias, that Devin Harris seems to be the only player outside of that core group.

i get that feeling too. my first thought from reading that was "they better not trade anyone from this team, even if they aren't going to win the 'ship." but then i started thinking who they could spare if they got a great offer? harris was the only guy i could think of. he is like that sesame street song. "one of these things just doesn't belong here...." i mean, i have even heard some people forget harris was the main part of the dwill trade. they refer to favors, kanter, and the gsw pick.

i suppose you could credit harris for not ruining the chemistry, IF he is not a huge part of it. but even i dont think i would put TOO much stock into him not belonging. i think he does belong, but just not as much as the rest of the guys. basically, he is not this team's "ronnie brewer." (that trade ruined the team chemistry that year)

I sort of think that's why we've seen them hold on to CJ so long as well - everyone seems to like him quite a bit even though he can be an absolute bonehead (of course, for the price, he has performed up to expectations).

I think playing with Josh Howard helped a lot, I've noticed a lot of similarities in their game starting to appear.

I think the team is tight because there is now more of a balance of NBA culture and Jazz culture.

LOL. Been looking at the Laker board. How funny is it that they complain so much about the refs and that the league is conspiring against them. How oblivious they are to what fans of any other team have had to go through for a decade now on their behalf. How funny that they would think the league has any reason to favor the Jazz over them. I guess having a 10 FT advantage on our court wasn't enough.

Yeah, there was one no call that should have been 2 points but they made it 10. It's a 48 minute game.

Ever since Game 5 of the 2008 2nd round between the Jazz and Lakers, I've always chuckled whenever a Lakers fan complains about officiating.

The NBA wanted LA/Boston that year. There was no way in hell they were going to let Utah have a chance to close out the series at home.
