Sign Wilson Chandler!!

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:17 pm

Throw the bank at this guy as he would be our best defender as well as our best 3 point shooter. If we are worried about the cap then amnesty a player like Jefferson or trade away players like Raja and Miles.

We need two way players not offensive black holes like Jefferson and Miles.

I would NEVER amnesty a player like Jefferson, let alone do it with the intent to bring on Chandler... Umm, thats crazy talk. He isn't much better than Miles and is maybe equal to Howard. We can draft a better player at 12 this yr. Why trow the bank at him??? Sorry but no way...

I agree, to an extent. I'd rather just stand pat, Chandler is good - but not good enough to really make a meaningful change.

While I would definitely not amnesty Jefferson for Chandler, I would do everything I could to sign this guy. He is a great talent that can defend and shoot multiple positions. His skillset is just what the Jazz need.

Denver signs chandler to a small 1 year deal and trade him to us for CJ's expiring and the GS pick (one rookie next year is enough). We work on a long term deal in the offseason.

Chandler is a very good and he would doo doo on howard and CJ.

No thanks. I like Chandler and I think he'd definitely be worth going after in the offseason if we're letting C.J. and Howard go, but I really don't want another veteran around to take away minutes from Burks and Hayward. Not unless that veteran would make us (much) better than a fringe playoff team, which Chandler wouldn't do.

he's kind of a streaky scorer but he does other things well (defend, rebound). he's also still very young. i wouldn't throw the bank at him but if you have the opportunity then take it.

I am on the fence with Chandler. He is probably a better than average SF, a good defender and attacking the rim kind of player, but he is not a good/reliable outside shooter.

Hayward is 9pt 3rb avg this year. WC was 15 pt 6rb avg in 2011. Question is whether Hayward will improve to that level in the next year or two (sometimes I say yes, other times I doubt it). Another question is whether Jazz will be able to get a better wing player in the draft this summer.

I would like to see the Jazz pick up Chandler, but not break the bank doing it (less than $8M per year for sure).

I saw that Chandler is interested in playing for the Raptors. The only reason I can think of is that he wants to be the 1 or 2 scoring option. (unless he likes the city alot) I think he could be our #2 option on offense here too though. (if we wanted him)
