The vast majority of threes shot in the NBA are wide open. Otherwise these guys wouldn't take them. Phoenix earned those looks by setting great screens and establishing a mean pick and Roll with Gortat early. It was either give Nash the pull up three or Gortat the layup. Most games one or two of those will miss (especially the Frye one) and the Jazz win the game.

I guess they could have put Favors in to guard the pick and roll, but Gortat's gonna get open no matter what if you trap Nash. Is that what you mean by refusing to guard the three?

I understand that the vast majority of threes in the NBA are wide open. Ideally in a game against great shooters you want to limit the amount of wide open threes they get, which didn't seem to be in Utah's game plan tonight.

That being said, I know it's not easy to guard the Nash pick and roll, but there were PLENTY of instances on offense where Phoenix got a wide open 3 without it. In the 3rd quarter especially it seemed effortless for them, and what was frustrating was the Jazz players were packing the paint for no reason whatsoever throughout it. Stupid team or stupid coaching, or both.

Good game guys. We usually lose close games against winning teams so it was nice to actually win for once, that too on a clutch shot by Nash.

Surprisingly we had an awful day at the FT line.

Utah has such a bright future. Once you get rid of Jefferson and Davis and Favors, Kanter, Burks and Hayward develop, you guys will be the next OKC.

I expect 2 more years and then you'll easily be title contenders unlike Phoenix who will be stuck in mediocrity for however long Robert Sarver remains owner.

Good luck with the rest of the season anyway (except in that lone game against the Suns)

I just don't understand why we kept doubling Nash when he turned on the pick and roll, allowing the man setting the pick to roll right to the basket.......

Phoenix ran that play like 10 times in a row, and scored each time......

At least it was a fun game to watch...... That Millsap slam is one of my favorite plays all year...... Right up there with the two Hayward blocks on one possession...... I didn't know Millsap could still jump that high......
