GSW loses rest of games to finish 6th or 7th worst to keep their pick that means they finish season losing the last 11 games of the season and 4-23 in the last 27 games. NBA should not allow such tanking. They can stop it by not allowing trades contingent on top 7 protected top 8 etc but just allow protection in traded picks for top 3 picks only as the lottery stops tanking in that way.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Easy way to fix tanking, just gow back to the system where all lottery teams had the same chance of winning the lottery.......

That doesn't fix tanking, it just shifts it to fringe-playoff teams. Would you rather have a first-round exit or a 1/14 chance of getting the number 1 pick?

That's a good point....... Didn't think of that....... Well, I'm out of solutions...... Maybe make lottery teams pay a fine, just like teams that are over the luxury tax.......

No, I think this would go a long way towards fixing egregious tanking. If this system were in place right now, which of Houston, Denver, Phoenix and Utah would be trying to miss the playoffs for a shot at the no. 1 pick? My guess is none of them.

Fix tanking by not allowing any trades where picks are traded with such contingencies. You trade a pick then you trade a pick. Otherwise, lottery system fine as situated as teams like Bobcats with no talent need at least a guarantee of a top 4 pick.
