Hayward SG or SF??
Hayward can shoot, attack the rim, defense, pass the ball etc. He is very all-rounded.
But what is Hayward neutral position?? SG or SF??
After this season, CJ, Howard expire. Bell may Trade. Only Burks. We need to re-group our swingman, so we need to think about Hayward play as SG or SF.
I like Hayward play as SG. whats your view??

Re: Hayward SG or SF??
Hayward has stated in the past his native and most comfortable position is SF, but I think he's more than capable to switch around to either position..

Re: Hayward SG or SF??
Some players spend their whole careers raising questions about their true natural position (e.g. Tim Duncan, Shawn Marion, AK-47, Andrea Bargnani...). I have a feeling this will be Hayward's case, and his official position will depend mostly on the quality of his teammates.
Right now, I'm thinking Hayward's going to spend most of his playing time for the next few years at the SF position due to the presence of Burks, but I wouldn't bet too much on that. He strikes me as an intelligent and selfless player who can adjust to whichever position according to his coach's needs.

Re: Hayward SG or SF??
He can play either position capably, but I think he's a better fit at the 2. He has good handles, a quality jumper, and creates match-up problems with his length. Burks' presence does complicate things, though...

I like him better as a two, mainly because he's more of a matchup problem there and because he's not a very good rebounder for a three, but, like most people, I think he can play either position and that Burks's presence likely means he'll spend most of his time at the three. That might not be ideal, but it's not really a problem either. Unless we draft another two this year (and we might not even have a pick, so I don't know how likely that is), Hayward will probably still get some minutes at the two. The versatility we have with him and Burks is going to be quite an asset on both ends.

Of late he seems to do well at either, though earlier this season his forte was definitely at the 2. Definitely well have to get him a little more used to playing SF until we get a starter worthy SF IMO.

Re: Hayward SG or SF??
I like Hayward at the two because of the mismatch he creates. Carroll seems like a good fit at the three too, especially since he's shown the last few games that he can shoot. Burks can take the James Harden role off the bench.

hayward is a good player, can play both positions without any problem. I say yes to the pick for Gallinari (imagine burks, Hayward and gallo......)

Absolutely.
Also, Hayward is ideally a 2 guard. If you can play him at the 2, he makes your lineup that much taller/longer/better. I wouldn't mind playing him at the 3 though if we had someone else who could be our starting 2 guard.

Fun Fact:
Alec Burks has a higher standing reach than Gordon Hayward.

In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

It'd be nice if Gordon Hayward had a fluent catch and shoot ability at the perimeter.

It won't be long, he will develop it.
