Each home playoff game brings in probably $1.5-$2 million in revenue for the home team, very little to none of which goes to player salaries. So, for the 2 home dates the Jazz are guaranteed, there's a gate of around $3-$4 million, if the series goes to a 6th game, that's around $ 6 million in revenue. The 14th pick in the draft earns right around $2-$2.5 million in a year, so that's player salary that can be spent elsewhere and not locked into that pick. I'm perfectly fine with our small-market team building up their war chest a little, and not being locked into at least 2 salaries for rookies this year. Having said that, of course I'd love to see the Jazz still end up with the GSW pick..

I may be young in the grand scheme of things but I been a Jazz fan long enough to know theres no such thing as a "war chest". Any extra profit from the playoffs is going into the owners pocket and never to be used on the team. When was the last time this team made a bold and risky move salary wise? When the last time we really splurged on a guy (and no sign Cj who is worth -1,000,000 doesn't count neither does aquiring Jefferson). How many times we won multiple playoff games in the boozer-deron era and kept making salaray cuts in the offseason and wouldn't make that next step to compete when we actually had the oppurtunity too. This team even sniffs luxery tax, they start making salary dumps. This team gets a expering contract, they either trade it for cheap crap or let that guy walk.

No such thing as a Jazz war chest. Btw what did the 76ers learn from being destroyed by the Heat last year except how to lose to the heat? Theres no good coming from this playoff run, don't fool yourself.

Why doesn't Jefferson count?

Boozer and Okur were both huge risks, plus AK's contract ...
