David Locke = Idiot

David Locke has a daily "Tip Off" and he defends Corbin's rotations. WOW He is either trying to look good to the Jazz management or he is a complete idiot. No one in their right mind can defend Corbin on how he has used Favors.

Utah Jazz have become team propoganda trying to save face for their Village Idiot. Corbin and the Jazz are not even in games and the organization is acting like that is ok. Jerry Sloan would be rolling over in his grave! I thought I would never say this I miss Jerry Sloan bc the one thing you can count from him was thr truth. David Locke is the Jazz propoganda anouncer. He is a complete Joke.

I go back and forth with him. He is clearly a smart guy as far as analyzing talent and the way he uses stats can be interesting.

However, at this point, anyone defending Corbin not playing Favors starter minutes is pretty clueless. I haven't heard the tipoff today. Is that what he is doing?

I think what is making me more mad than anything else is that anyone with a pair of eyes can see the impact that Favors has on the game when he is in there, and the Jazz org makes it seem like it is so hard to "find him minutes."

Favors is the best defensive player on our team, bar none, and he gets 20 minutes a night.

Al is the worst defender on our team, but against some bigs (never Tim Duncan) he can score well.

What message is Corbin sending to our players?

The message he is sending to players is: "I don't give a s*** if you kick a** on defense, thats not going to get you playing time."

The other message he sent to Derrick in the 2nd game "Hey Derrick, Thanks for getting us back in the game and playing great all-around, now go sit your a** down."

So if I'm a player, why do I bother with defense?

Explain that one to me.

Besides, is there any indication that if Favors was given the amount of touches that Al gets, that he wouldn't score just as much? In addition, Favors actually gets to the line, putting other teams in foul trouble, Al doesn't shoot free throws.

The times he has replaced Al, he has scored well.

Today at practice Tyrone Corbin said “Derrick (Favors) should play more. I need to find a way to get him more minutes on the floor, if it is the big line-up .. playing him at the 4 or playing small, we have to see .. with him on the floor we are better.”

In this series in the 47 minutes Favors has been on the floor the Jazz have outscored the Spurs 103 to 97. In the other minutes, never mind.

Let’s delve a little deeper, who has he played with, who has he played against and see if we can discover anything.

Favors can play in any of 4 combinations, the big lineup (Millsap at the three, Jefferson at the 5), with Millsap, with Jefferson and with Kanter.

Thus far he has played almost 20 minutes with Kanter, 13 minutes in the big line-up, about 9 minutes with Jefferson and 7 minutes with Millsap at the 4.

With Kanter and Favors on the floor the Jazz have outscored the Spurs 40-35. With the big line-up in they have been outscored 30-34, in the almost 9 minutes with Jefferson the score has been Jazz 16 Spurs 11 and with Millsap as the 4 it has been 17-17.

The Spurs two main engines are Tony Parker and Tim Duncan. Favors has been on the floor for 21 minutes with Parker on the floor. In that period the score has been Jazz 54-49. Favors and Duncan have shared the hardwood for 17 minutes and the Jazz lead 36-34.

I am stunned to see these numbers. Favors has been an unreal game changer.

Spurs with Parker on the floor for the series it has been Spurs 157-110. Therefore, with Favors on the bench and Parker on the floor it has been Spurs 108 to 56 and with Favors on the floor it has been Jazz 54-49.

Spurs with Tim Duncan on the floor this series have outscored Jazz 143-90. Using the same deduction, with Favors on the bench and Duncan on the floor it has been Spurs 109-54 with Favors on the floor and Duncan on the floor it has been Jazz 36-34.

Can Derrick play all 48?

Still havent seen tipoff so I don't know what he said, but Locke and Corbin both acknowledge he should be playing more.

David Locke totes the company line. He is "The voice of the Utah Jazz". That means he is pushing the agenda of the franchise. What exactly do you expect?

Imagine if Favors played 30+ mins AND the guards and wings started hitting their open shots!!

Actually, the Jazz simply aren't going to win this series. Hopefully, Big Al and/or Sap will show some life the next couple of games as I continue to hope that the management will trade one of them for a great wing player (my choice Al for Iggy) this summer. If this is the case, you can't sit Al or Sap in favor of Favors without losing some trade leverage, which could be even more important the next couple of years than that 14th pick they lost by getting to the playoffs (which I am ok with).
