Now not sure if he holds true in more playing time but really Favors per 36 for year 2 are very close to the same, and yes Locke had an article a few weeks ago I stole the numbers from.

PER36 : HOWARD , FAVORS
Points : 15.4 , 14.8
Rebounds : 12.2 , 11.2
Assists : 1.5 , 1.1
Blocks : 1.4 , 1.7

Based on these numbers its hard to call someone crazy for saying he could be close to dwight. The real question is can he take the next 2 steps and be Dwight or 3 more and pass him. Does he take 1 more step and you get a 14/11 guy who plays good defense like a Noah, or Chandler. I have a hard time thinking he has reached his top play and does not take another step. With all of this the problem is you are looking at per36 and not raw stats because the Jazz are underplaying him, and know it.

**sigh**

Well theres no use aurguing because this is beyond rediculous.

And to JazzD12's comments:
How many times have I been wrong. Just based on the couple years I've been here. Was I wrong on my defenses of Leonard, Knight, Biyombo (he is not thabeet is he?), how about my defense of Favors Monroe, Turner (no ones calling him a bust now) and George before they all played an NBA game, Defended Rubio before he came and did what he did, my defense of OJ mayo before the recent love infaction with him, defended harden way back when many thought he was a dissapointment, Hayward numbers looking very simlar to Mike Miller, I can go on and on. Sure I was off on how many minutes Kanter would get but per minute wise I was very close and even if you dont adjust for minutes, my stat predictions were still pretty much closer than everyone elses.

But either way doesn't matter, bookmark it because I'm 110% sure on this one.

Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back

Nobody is saying that Favors is going to be Malone, or Howard. What people are saying is that he has the talent and the potential to be a very very good Derrick Favors. The problem is the village idiot can't seem to do anything with the woody he has for vets that are clearly stinking.

My argument using Malone is that he was also a guy that got undervalued, difference was he had a coach that played him 30 min per game as a rookie. That seemed to turn out all right.
Favors should have and should be playing 30 plus min a game.

Does anybody here think Favors could not have averaged 9 and 15 playing 36 plus min this year?

IMHO there's no reason to doubt Favor's could be averaging playoff's 14p/11r/2+b had coaching staff developed him on court during regular season.

Al is averaging 13/6 on 41% from the floor, I have no doubt Favors could have done that this post season in the same minutes.
