Team by Team trade Ideas.

Post#1 » by habibadobe » Tue May 8, 2012 6:39 am

So this is a team by team list of trades I could see the Jazz making with other teams around the league. The main goal is to move a big and or add shooting.

Eastern Conference

Atlanta:
Jefferson for Josh Smith in a 3 way trade with something else coming back.
Jefferson for Marin Williams and something else maybe a pick or Pachulia.

Boston:
Dont really see them trading Rondo for Jefferson but I would do that, lol.

Charlotte:
Jefferson for Maggette. Both would be in last year of contract. I think this could work for both teams, at the least gives time for young bigs without eating long term money.

Chicago: CJ Watson or Korver into Memo trade exception.

Cleveland:
Jefferson for Gibson and Walton maybe Casspi as well,or just Gibson into trade exception.Gives as some outside shooting off the bench. All expire next year.
Jeffeson for Verejo and filler. Gives them scoring inside we get a solid 3rd big.

Detroit:
Jefferson for Gordon. Dont really see either team liking this but who knows.

Indiana:
Jeffson for Granger. Dont think they want Jefferson unless for some reason Hibbert gets some crazy
deal they dont want to match.

Miami:
Dont really see a deal to be made here.

Milwaukee:
Dont really see a deal here, maybe we take Dunleavy into trade exception.

New Jersey:
Jefferson or Millsap for Marrow and Farmer if he opts in, if not maybe Petro.
Could also take Marrow into trade exception, hard to tell what New Jersey will want if Deron walks.
If Deron stays then we have 2 bigs on expiring contracts they could want while waiting for Dwight.

New York:
Dont really see anything that would work for both teams.

Orlando:
Not sure much here maybe Millsap for Redick if they dotn bring back Anderson.

Philadelpia:
Jefferson for Iguodala. A lineup with Haward Iggy and Favors could be a top level defensive team.
Millsap and filler(Bell maybe) for Iguodala.
Jefferson for Brand and some incentive like Holiday Turner or as part of a 3 way trade. We may be one of the few teams that could eat a few million of Brand this year without any long term cost to us. I would consider maybe Jefferson and Millsap for something nice coming back in a 3 way.

Toronto:
Harris for Calderon. Not sure this really helps either team. Calderon into trade exception if we moved Harris and did not bring back another point guard.

Washington:
Dont really see a deal here.Jefferson and Bell for Lewis works under the cap but they would have to send something nice for us to eat that dead cap and I dont think they do that.

Western Conference

Dallas:
Shawn Marion into trade exception. I dont make this trade but they may give up some young talent or picks to move him if they want to sign Deron.

Denver:
Jefferson and picks for Gallinari. Dont think they do that but I might be interested in Jefferson or Millsap for any of Wilson Chandler, Gallinari, Afflalo, Hamilton.

Golden State:
They have guys they want to get rid of not sure they want to pay us enough to take Biedrins or Richard Jefferson.

Houston:
Jefferson for Martin. They each have 1 year left not sure it makes either team better. Also have lots of interest in Lowry with either Scola or Dalembert.

LA Clippers:
Not really anything jumping out at me.

LA Lakers:
Millap and Harris for Gasol. Dont think we really need to trade big for big but maybe as part of a 3 way trade where we bring in young talent or a solid wing. Like Harris and Millsap to Lakers, Gasol, Jefferson to 76ers, Iggy and Brand to Jazz.

Mephis:
Not sure we have anything they want but I would take back Rudy Gay as part of a 3 way trade.

Minnesota:
Maybe trade exception for Webster, Ridnour or Johnson, really not much here.

New Orleans:
Millsap for one or two of the young wings they have, not really much to work with here. I do like
Jarrett Jack not really sure he is better then Harris.

Oklahoma:
Jefferson and picks/Burks/Kanter for Harden and Perkins. I dont think they do this unless they decide they just cant keep Harden long term. I have a man crush on him and the beard. One of the few guys I could be willing to move some of the young talent we have to get. I really see him as one of the top 3 shooting guards for the next 8 years. He will get a max contract offer from someone. So we would have to match that.

Phoenix:
Millsap for Dudley. Dont really see us as good trade parters, but Dudley is what you want Millsap to be when he plays the 3.

Portland:
Jefferson for Mathews and filler. Matthews is not an all star but better then CJ, Bell, Howard.

Sacramento:
Millsap for Tyreke. No I dont want them to throw in Jimmer.
Would also consider Harris for Tyreke but dont see them doing that.

San Antonio:
Dont really see anything here. I am sure if we did trade with them in a year or two we would be pissed we did, as they do just about everything right, well other then Richard Jefferson.

Utah:
I would offer you our trash for Favors. Everyone else wants to get him for nothing and then talk trash about him when we dont like it, why cant I do the same.

Clippers: Eric Bledsoe. Excellent defender, gret transition guy. Ok shooter with his feet set, can't do anything else or run the point, but burks and Hayward could do that. If ever developed range he would be a solid starting PG IMO. Worst case scenario, 190lb version of Ronnie price with way better defense and finishing.
