Oops! For some reason it didn't include my comments.

Bell started in all, but one of the games that he played in this year, on a good Jazz team.

Iguodala has averaged a relatively high volume of shots at times, but it's really because he was the most credible scoring threat at the time. It's always seemed to me that his preference is to defer to others whenever possible; it just hasn't always been possible.

You may be right, but in the recent past he averaged approximately 15 shots per game fo three years in a row. He will just need reign it in and become more efficient if he becomes a Jazz man.

Really don't know where those numbers are coming from.

For his career.
05' - 6.7
06' - 8.4
07' - 13.0
08' - 15.6
09' - 14.0
10' - 13.7
11' - 11.3
12'' - 10.2

One year he was over 14. And for 4 years straight his FG Attempts/GM have been going down. Also, not to be ignored is the fact that he's always among the league leaders in minutes played per game. That adjusts his shots # even higher than it would be compared to most other players. He was playing basically 40 MPG back when his FG attempt # was higher.

Thank you for proving my point, but it looks like it was closer to four years in a row instead of three! I have been following iIggy for a long time, and I think that he would be a great fit here. I just scratch my head on a night that he goes 3 - 20, and think "why doesn't he just count this a rebounding night or steals night" and just stop shooting??? A player can consistently rebound or consistently play defense or focus on assists like Manu Ginobli when their shot isn't falling. They can always contribute. I call it "maturity", when a player monitors themselves like Manu, and does what is in the best interest of the team, rather than keep chucking like Iggy.

That being said, I am very interested in Iggy, and am hopeful that the Jazz coaching staff could help him change his thinking and instincts during games. He simply doesn't and shouldn't have to take that many shots, unless the are high percentage shots for him and he is in the groove.

I don't mean this as a personal attack whatsoever, but I have to admit that I really don't understand what you're getting at Finnegan with the number of shots Iggy takes per game.

I think it is helpful to look at the current Jazz roster to see how many shots they are taking and their effieicency.

Al- 17att/gm, 19pts
Sap- 14a/g, 16.6 pts
Favors- 6.8a/g, 8.8pts
Hawyard- 11.3 a/g, 11.8pts
Bell- 7.7 a/g, 6.4pts
CJ- 11a/g, 9.1pts
Howard- 9.3a/g, 8.7pts
Carrol-5.3a/g, 4.5pts

You can see from the above that Bell, CJ, Howard and Carrol take more shots than the points they get from them and are inefficient (no surprise, right). Hayward needs as many shots as he gets points (regular season, not including his abysmal playoff performance). Moreover, at an average of 11 shots in 30 mins per game, I wouldn't classify GH as a chucker. If anything, he defers too much.

Iggy this past year took on average 10 shots per game and averaged over 12 pts in over 35 mins per game. This is more efficient than any of the Jazz wing and guard players! If I were the coach, I'd ask him to take a couple more per game.

In fact, if Al is traded for Iggy, I doubt that Favors increases from less than 7 shots per game to 17 (at least not next year) to make up for Al's shots. So, there will need to be some extra shots taken by Iggy, Sap, GH, etc. to make up the difference. With Iggy's and Sap's efficiency, I don't mind at all.

I proved your point? How exactly did I do that? You said "in the recent past he averaged approximately 15 shots per game fo three years in a row."

See how I can do what you did too. If you consider the "recent past" going back 5-6 years to illustrate your point, I find that pretty funny.

Out of the top 34 players in MPG this year, Iguodala averaged the LEAST shots per game out of any of them. You have to look all the way down to Jose Calderon to find a guy who shot LESS then him. Out of the top 55 players in MPG, only Calderon and Tyson Chandler averaged LESS shots then Iguodala.

You can keep trying to convince yourself that he shoots a lot by looking at his stats from 4-6 years ago though.

Bell started in all, but one of the games that he played in this year, on a good Jazz team.

Well 3 things.

First, Jazz were not that good with Bell starting. In fact, his getting injured and not allowed to eat up minutes was what help lead us to a playoff spot. I can think of exactly 0 games he helped us win and several games he did not play in which we would have lost if he did play - the Laker game in LA for example.

Secondly, even if we were good with Bell, starting token starter status doesn't really mean anything. Keith Bogans started all 82 for Chicago last year... he's out of the league now.

Third, Bell was just awful. Turrible. Indisputable. Poll 100 Jazz fans, you're probably the only one who would disagree.

You're entitled to your opinion, but man..

No prob. I think that most consider CJ to be the biggest "chucker" on the team. Just be aware that Iggy is an order of magitude higher. He is capable of "losing games", for the team when he goes 4 - 19. Below is their season averages for field goal attempts per game:

CJ Miles
3.3
3.1
3.9
7.8
8.9
11.5
8.3

Andre Igoudala
6.7
8.4
13.0
15.6
14.0
13.7
11.3
10.2

I love Iggys game and I posted a trade for him last summer. I have been following him for 5 years or so. I think that my concerns are valid, but I am not sure if there is much else to say.

Iggy's a much better player than CJ... he's an all-star.. so its reasonable that he would shoot a lot more than CJ.
