From what I read, it was more the analyst giving his opinion that "Utah is a team worth looking at" than "Nash is interested in the Jazz." I'd didn't see the actual segment, though. Either way, would obviously be exciting.

With Nash and Rush ideally we should have one more 3 pt shooter... or maybe give til midseason to judge and adjust

Would anyone be interested in Anthony Randolph or Anthony Tolliver if we traded Al or Paul? Tolliver can come pretty cheap but he might be a nice asset off the bench to shoot the 3, a stretch the defense/three point shooting PF wouldn't be too bad.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jameer Nelson finds his way onto the Jazz radar, and in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the Jazz look at Orlando over the past few years on what the best way to compete for a championship with the pieces we already have in place.

Good scorer/shooter, knows how to play with an athletic big like Favors, and may be able to help turn Favors into a Howard like player, could be a smooth transition for him, and I could see him being had for about what the Jazz are willing to offer.

Made 7.8 this past year, which I'd be willing to offer knowing Devin is on his way out.

Dude I would amnesty Harris to high heaven to make this possible. And I like Harris.

Or maybe trade Al Jeff? Would him and Nash mesh?

But Nash and Favors

I bet Nash would not come here, BUT if he would I would amnesty Harris or do anything other than trading our 4 young guys.

i wonder if the Free Agent from Houston would com to the Jazz for a reasonable salary. $5M a year
?

Dragic will make starting PG $$ so no reason to hope for that. He's earned it too.

someone put nash and tolliver in the same post???? :-)

tolliver just to fill the bench.... and we still have some quality bigs; no need.

if we acquire a free agent, it'd be someone who can play the point, or who can shoot the 3 (maybe both...)

Kind of willing to bet that whether or not the Jazz get Jameer Nelson has no effect whatsoever on whether or not Favors becomes a Hall of Fame player.

No I didn't...

Tolliver is a 4 that can stretch the floor and shoot the 3, which is why I brought him up...

We need to get Eric Bledsoe somehow. Dude is a game changer on defense. I haven't seen anyone stay in front of PGs like him, his jumper doesn't look broken and he's great in transition.

My offseason plan: until the phone rings for a very good offer (one or more lottery picks for Al Sap Devin), or we can acquire a star (Nash or Eric Gordon, for ex.) no trades. Stay put and we'll have picks, cap space and the young core intact (Hayward, Burks, Favors, Kanter)

PG Harris, Watson and arguably Tinsley.
SG Hayward, Burks (both can also play some point), Belinelli
SF Millsap, Carroll, Evans, Hayward
PF Favors, Millsap, Carroll, Evans
C Jefferson, Kanter, Favors, 2nd round pick

I don't count Raja...... amnesty him, waive him, or trade him, i don't care. At worst bench him and let Burks more PT. Assuming Rja's gone, we need to add at least two more players for the minimum roster, and my chip goes on the 2nd rounder (Sacre, O'quinn, Sims, or someone's sliding) and on a SG not so costly (belinelli? rush? Foye? Fields? ...). Still we remain under the cap.
I'd also make a minor move to acquire a mid-late 2nd round pick, just because i think this draft is very deep, acquiring a prospect (we can also pick a euro and let him develop overseas).

That leaves us with all possibilities open with a big trade exception to excercise before the end of the year, (10+millions mean a very good player or a bad contract+picks) and Sap, Al Devin expiring contracts increasing their value as the all-star break approaches.... if the team is going really well, stay put, enjoy a playoff run, and still the GS pick (we have a slight chance to pick 8th this year) and plenty of cap space for 2013-2014.; if the team goes south, no playoff run but 2 lottery picks and cap space, or 3-4 picks (trade the expirings).

I'd really like to see the Jazz go all out and offer Gordonna big contract. Take a risk, because a Gordon Favors combo could be championship caliber if he stays healthy.

I want to trade Jefferson and Millsap. I think only Millsap can get back value. Power Forwards seem easy to come by recently though. Most of the bad teams already have one.

I'm the biggest Jimmer fan in here and that's an easy no from me.

Jason Thompson... really?

I like Thompson. He'd be an ideal backup PF, the type of guy I'd like to get back in Millsap or Jefferson trade.

What about Thompson plus a protected first round pick?

A Sacramento first would be either too much for Millsap or too protected so we end up waiting 4 years and might just get 2 seconds. The era of unprotected firsts is over.
