Marvin Williams helps us at the SF and gives us some outside shooting and PG play will be improved so the Jazz are better but I need the big trade to happen and get rid of Jefferson and Bell
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Are the Jazz getting a pick in this deal? That's a pretty big difference in future salary commitment...

Harris is getting paid more this year, and Marvin has a player option next year. It's not THAT bad.

I expect Marvin to possibly have a career year depending on his minutes and touches. In Atlanta he never really had an opportunity on offense, so it seemed like he stopped focusing on shooting as much, because he expected to never have the touches.

I can't wait to introduce him to Al
Jefferson.

jeez so pessimistic this board has been lately. this is a solid starting lineup now, with millsap first off the bench. ide be perfectly happy with this team going into camp.

but with marvin coming in, you can bet josh howard is not.

Good size
good attitude
good spot up shooting
good rebounder for his size
Decent defence
Prototypical SF size
26 yrs old

Whats not to like? I think he's a great fit. Might even be a longterm thing who knows.

good assessment of Marvin but he is better than a decent defender it should be decent rebounder for his size slightly better than good defence.

To me Devin is a significantly better player (even after a rough year) with a better contract. I don't know how we aren't getting some sort of sweetener on this deal. Even a heavily protected future 1st should at least be doable.

I like Marvin as a player, and think he fits what we need here pretty well. And anything instead of Josh Howard is preferable.

But, honestly. Not even a 2nd? A 30 year old foreign prospect?

Nothing?
