Well he would be backing up Kobe so he wouldn't be playing too much. Maybe it'll work out, just don't expect much from him. With Kobe on the team and as his backup I imagine Raja will find it alot easier to keep his mouth shut. Dude has the biggest ego for a scrub player I've seen in a while

Corbin played Bell ahead of the rookies mainly for his defense. Even drove most Jazz nation up the wall for an entire year Corbin continued to play Bell for his defense even though his shot was gone for like I said a whole year....even I was calling for Bell to be benched..finally the day came and then this whole deal blew up and that was the end of Bell and the Jazz.

He's aged but I think he'd be a low risk for the Lakers. He was hitting his shots until he got injured, and we were winning.. a slower team like the Lakers with Nash creating havoc getting down low and kicking it out I could see Bell working out, almost like a cheap Ray Allen type situation.. (not that I care for the Lakers..or to see you win..no doubt you will win many games next season) but I could see the Lakers signing him.

Spottieottie wrote:iamworthy, he was just so bad. He was so awful last year. His goto excuse for sucking was "lack of consistent playing time", and when he got the PT, he still sucked. He was a token starter for probably over half of the season despite being so terrible and then had the audacity to spit venom and start drama after being benched.

He threw his coach under the bus, management under the bus, and turned out to be a total whiner. Not to mention he was awful. He can maybe make a three a game still but other then that he is totally useless. No midrange game, no rebounding or passing. It is as if playing 4 on 5 with him out there.

He can help out a contender... by signing with another one. If he is getting any serious minutes on your team you are seriously f'd.

this post has a tone about it that suggests it should just be looked over due to it being too emotional. but on closer inspection, it is hard to find any lies or exaggerations.

so in other words. QFT! good luck with the guy. :dontknow:

I think I can die a happy man now. Raja seems like a nice guy, but the way he acted despite how poorly he played was just....dumb...I guess that would be the nice way to say it.

Sucks that it didn't work out, on all levels. He's a tough guy, experienced, charismatic and a guy who maximized his potential. He could have contributed a lot more, and a lot in general. If things worked out differently, he is a guy I wanted to see transition into the coaching staff and the organization in general. His presence, charisma and leadership skills could transfer well from player to a guy who works with players (in any capacity). Too bad it didn't work out.

Oh, yeah - and it also REALLY SUCKS that we couldn't get anything for him. not even a 2nd round pick. Did I mention that this sucks? :sigh:

It's true. I was really hoping for him to continue his scrappy success when he came back to Utah. He saved his career when he came to Utah for the first time, and I was hoping for him to be re-energized. Too bad it didn't work out.

So, I guess the Jazz couldn't get anything for Bell as far as trades or picks. I can only imagine that they've resorted to this in order to save money by not amnestying him.

once the jazz traded d-will and started rebuilding raja should've been the odd man out. it didn't make any sense to keep him around than, yet we somehow kept him through all last season only to bench him through the playoffs. at least he's gone now but we get nothing for him, total meh.

Seems like Bell wanted a buyout over amnesty so he could choose his next team. Hope Jazz FO didn't give him much.

Can you tell, Jazz fans don't like him and felt we had higher expections when we signed him?

Here is the real take. We don't really know. There was some kind of dissagreement between bell and the coaching staff. And mysteriously he was benched and was then listed with some kind of injury. Then something about the coaching staff inferring he was done for the season with still a few games left. He never came back.
He started so he wasn't half bad, but he never really found his shot like he had it the first time he was in Utah. His defense was average but at times he still moved very quickly. But one could see his age is catching up to him.
Yes I think he would be a great addition to any bench contending team. Great player I think if you only give him 15 minutes when it counts.
One has to wonder what Bell was so upset about. Anyone really know? He isn't a dumb rookie so there must be something to his point of view.
Go ReAL!
