I guess KOC, Corbin and Perrin are all wrong about Kanter. He must be a bust because fans can't see it. They should just get rid of him while he still has some trade value!

While I agree with you about Kanter, the argument that the coaches are right just because they are coaches is a argumentative fallacy called argumentum ad verecundiam.

I find this fallacy embraced much higher here in Utah and on this board... kind of a side effect from being so authoritarian. Please get the word out so we don't look like a bunch of stupid sheep.

There was no fallacious use of argumentum ad verecundiam. Outside of fallacious use, argumentum ad verecundiam is a valid and often strong inductive argument.

I could also refer to your statement as quidquid latine dictum sit altum viditu. Really! I'm making a posteriori point. It's simply that too many sports fans from ab incunablis make ad absurdum de minimis statements that everyone should take cum grano salis. Some go on ad infinitum ad libitum.

Anyway thanks for supporting the Kanter argument. And may Kanter and the rest of the Jazz vires acquirit eundo.

Imprimatur!

RC is a man after his own heart, but I can't say it's not entertaining.

Heh... touche.

Look I wasn't trying to be profound, but the argument is fallacious. It isn't like coaching and basketball is overly complex... But I do agree that there is much absurdity in the Kanter bust crowd.

Only a tard would want to trade Kanter now. You probably will not get close to value.

Minnesota is in the same position with last year's 2nd pick Derrick Williams. His numbers weren't that good, but he only played about 15min/game, like Kanter.

They would be stupid to trade him now. ( caveat- if they could get a really good, fair return)

He is only 19.

You only give up on a guy when he is physically weak and he cannot get better. Kanter is not weak, nor physically inferior. He is a beast.

Of course, he better develop his skills this year and show us something or I will be pissed.

The reason Its hard to accept the opinions of some of the people who like Kanter is because those people keep trying to compare him to people he's not like. Its the same way some people tried to compare hayward to Ginnobli when he is not like him and so far has shown he is more like mike miller. Kanter doesn't have Bynum's or O'neal's athletism which is a gigantic difference in the way he will develop. Those guys relied on their athletism alot as they developed and Kanter can't do that. He has to rely on his size because he has little skill right now which is gonna kill him as hegets more defensive attention.

In addition guys are saying he has skills that are not showing up when others see him play or they overexgerate an "abilty" like low post defense which isn't special at all especially with so few low post players.

BTW sometimes you just know a player is going to be a bust or dissapointment. Like that tweener williams won't be a bad player but tweeners can only do so much in this league. You don't pick tweeners #2, his value will never be as high as it is now.

You know who never played summer ball fir the Jazz? Wes Matthews. The non-contract non-draft pick players are just there. It's a league wide audition.

Lillard looked great tonight, he'll be a great guy to have running our point for the future.

see what New Jersey did with Derrick Favors: they picked a young, raw, big man and give up just after few months.... after 80 games or so, Favors proved to be a force, even in playoffs... and still with a great upside.

I'm pretty satisfied with the Kanter i saw, but i think we can start to judge him only after a full season under his belt.

Hopefully, we'll see enough to become Jefferson available for a trade: i'm saying Enes has the talent to be a top ten PF-C in the nba until the end of his rookie contract.
