Why is the starting lineup above reproach?

Tonight the defense was bad but the offense was worse. Jazz looked completely impotent.

Jazz playing like ****. Just awful to watch. If we're gonna be a .500 team, there's really no need for Foye, Marvin, Sap or Al. We'd probably win 10-15 less games, but who cares. Better to develop our young guys and get a decent draft pick than waste the whole season trying to be the 8th seed with a bunch of player who won't be playing for the Jazz next year.
And the sooner we realize Favors is Chandler and not Duncan the better. Put him in pick'n'roll situations and let him score off offensive rebounds. Stop posting him up.

All of this.

I especially agree on Favors. The jazz have constructed their offense around Al Jefferson and they try to put Favors and Kanter into Al's spot as if they can do what he does.

I have just figured it out. We are NO good. Simple as that. If it werent for the altitude playing tired teams at home, we would not even be a 500 ball club. A lot fo dead weight on this team!
Play with the Pass, Play with a Purpose, and Play with Pace along with Obvious Unselfishness....Coach Snyder says the sky is purple than Jazz players say nice purple sky! LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIENTIST!!!!

that's player development. should they just be content with a 20 year old player with no offensive repertoire? it is good that they let him try and make those shots and moves in a game. to just let him live off offensive rebounds and dunks and say forget about any other offensive contribution is senseless. if that's the case, why do we whine about young players not getting enough burn? or why waste time with favors? just sign samuel dalembert. so stupid.
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Read this post on another forum. Seems spot on.

"Vogel laid out the blueprint and we've been seeing it since. Teams fall back to kill our break because they know we can't beat them with our half court. So when are we going to get through all the clutter and realize the problem is our offense is inept?"

Look on the bright side, if the season ended right now we'd be in the playoffs.

Of course if it ends in 15 minutes or so after the Blazers finish off the Kings we'll be in the lottery.

well said..

pick and roll Favors with Hayward creating.. Youth need to start and get the minutes!

Another thing I've noticed is, when the ball goes down to Al or whoever is posting up.. the players that cut to the basket (or used to..Brewer for example..) never get the ball or are not open, just pointless cuts to the basket, weak screens.. and when all fails kick it out to Foye for a 3 or give it to Milsap to try and create something.. just seems like a huge chunk of the offensive system is missing. Poor execution. Not a good balance.

Frustrating! I just hope the front office has a plan after this season..

I have no idea. In a fair world Marv would have just played his way to the DNP-CD part of the bench for a few games.

Bring back Sloan..trade/expire Jefferson away for the best prospect/future PG/draft pick..

Try again.

For the life of me I can't understand why Marvin and Hayward got so much playing time tonight. If they both play so poorly, why not put DC in and see if he can energize the team. Foye played way, way too much the first half too. It seems pretty obvious that if Foye or Marvin don't start well they rarely finish well, so there is no harm in putting DC or Burks in their place early on.

I am not sure if this is a lack of talent or a lack of coaching, but it is getting frustrating.

I'm not saying we should give up on his offensive game. Just put him in a situation where he can succeed. If he can add a post up game, even better. But trying to post him up, when he looks uncomfortable doing it and doesn't get good results most of the time is just crazy.
And Favors' defense is enough to get him playing time. I just don't see a problem with him beasting on defense and trying to dunk everything possible on offense.

It depends on what you mean by tanking. I'm saying we should trade players who won't likely be here next year and let our young guys play. Hell, it wouldn't shock me if our record improved if we did that.
