April Predictions

Post#1 » by StocktonShorts » Mon Apr 1, 2013 10:14 pm

Mon, Apr 1, 2013 Portland Trail Blazers
Wed, Apr 3, 2013 Denver Nuggets
Fri, Apr 5, 2013 New Orleans Hornets
Sun, Apr 7, 2013 @ Golden State Warriors
Tue, Apr 9, 2013 Oklahoma City Thunder
Fri, Apr 12, 2013 Minnesota Timberwolves
Mon, Apr 15, 2013 @ Minnesota Timberwolves
Wed, Apr 17, 2013 @ Memphis Grizzlies

4-4 overall; 3-2 at home, 1-2 on the road.

I'm going for three months in a row of picking W-L and Home/Away splits correctly. Of course I've just jinxed myself.

I would agree with the 4-4 record, but I have them beating Minessotta on the road and losing to Memphis on the road. It is a tough schedule. Here is hoping Dalas beats LA which I think would put us in the playoffs.

Losing to Minnesota then beating Memphis just seems like something this team would do.

We win all the games at home but OKC.

Then we win @ Minny, we lose @ GSW, and win @ Memphis if their seed is done, lose if they are fighting to up their seeding.

Denver Nuggets (L)
New Orleans Hornets (W)
@Golden State Warriors (L)
Oklahoma City Thunder (L)
Minnesota Timberwolves (W)
@Minnesota Timberwolves (W)
@Memphis Grizzlies (L)

3 wins = 42-40 Season = 8th Spot

Lakers:
MEM (L)
@LAC (L)
NOP (W)
@POR (W)
GSW (W)
SAS (L)
HOU (L)

3 Wins = 42-40 Season = 9th Spot *Jazz own Tie-Breaker

*But remember teams like MEM, SAS, GSW, LAC and HOU are all beatable, even for us 8th placers', and if focused and desperate enough, either of us can get up to a 45 win season if we get serious enough.

Jazz finally seem super serious, owning the best streak in the Western Conference just after having our worst losing streak. A win against DEN would bring huge confidence that will help us through April, especially against our biggest challenges left: OKC, MEM, and GSW, all of which we are capable of winning, I just think getting over the Nugget Hurdle and keeping our streak alive will bring much fortune.

I assumed awhile back, that this coach and these starters were incapable of making the playoffs, but I was mistaken; they are finally playing good basketball, it just took 1 full year of regular season, and were one summer away of having a completely new starting 5, so its gonna take another year to get back to these winning ways.

I think there is more at stake here than going to playoffs or getting good draft pick...how many times did lakers screw our playoff dreams, how many times did we have to leave cause lakers were always better cause cali has more population than salt lake so we spend less....

Well not this time, we have a chance to screw them over for once, and I don't care if we get #30 instead of #1, this is about pride and proving that we are better than them and Mav's(both the last two western conference teams to win NBA Ring)!

no they are not, just easy oponents, this team is hopeless, corbin and his pale lowe are horrible so as our starting guards duo mo and foye (gratz for oconnor for those signings, thanks God he is not our gm any more :P )

To be fair it was a little of both. They were playing good offensively against terrible defensive teams.

During that five game winning streak they were also playing some of the worst defense of the season.

Well what they did could have translated to games against teams like Denver.....But since we didn't I guess your claim is correct, not better basketball, just easier targets...with bad matchups..

The only problem unless you in the top 5, your not going to be given any advantage, and matchups will be against us.

If we can't adapt in regular season, what hope does Jazz have at OKC or SAS in playoffs..Even our ESA Castle won't protect us..
