thank you for that, man. really. thanks for ruining my day.

I certainly don't see any reason to give him an extension based on merit.

i'm very interested to see what happens too. the thing is, that if he doesn't get extended before the season starts, it likely means he's gone and that the jazz will get someone else when the season ends. but if that's the case, then they basically knew he wasn't the guy, and just wasted another full year of developing the young core with the wrong coach. so, if corbin isn't extended, he might as well should go before the season starts. if he's not retained beyond the next season, i don't see a reason why the jazz shouldn't just replace him now, except monetary considerations of paying a guy to not coach your team, and that replacing him is an admittance that he didn't work out. but of course, that will become evident anyway once he's not retained, so really, you might as well just do it now.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Just because the Jazz treated Sloan one way (always extending his contract at least a year early) doesn't mean they have to do the same with Corbin. It's not like he's earned it.

Lol, this is the Utah jazz. History shows Corbin can coach here for over 20 years with 2 of the greatest players of all time on the roster without winning a championship and still have a job. Being slightly above mediocre is fine here.

Couldn't have said it any better myself......
