Jazz did okay in this one. Gotta get what you can get. Iggy wont age well as his game requires elite athleticism. That contract might not look so good at the end. so far... no mistakes from jazz this off season... might not have been the perfect moves but it sets up for the future well

i'll wait to see exactly what the jazz will get, but if we don't get barnes and only get draft picks i'll be disappointed a bit. did we just take 24M in salaries, for draft picks in the mid 20s?

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

This officially shows we are tanking, and there is a cap floor you have to meet, and now the Jazz have met it, I'm happy with the tradeInigo Montoya wrote:i'll wait to see exactly what the jazz will get, but if we don't get barnes and only get draft picks i'll be disappointed a bit. did we just take 24M in salaries, for draft picks in the mid 20s?

you don't have to meet the cap floor. if you don't, you just distribute the difference between all the players on your roster.

I give this an A+. Multiple picks, and any 2014 pick is pretty huge. Even if it'll be late, it's totally worth it and no one else was gonna give up a much better 2014 pick (certainly nothing near the lottery) so it gets my approval. We weren't gonna get Barnes or Thompson (or even Rush) unless they knew they were gonna land dwight. We didn't have a ton of leverage either because I think they could have found other teams to make this happen if we asked for too much, and none of those players are worth losing a 2014 pick over.

This means we are unlikely to sign Paul Millsap, I am happy about this, we have a ton of cap next year so maybe DL plans on trying to attract a wanted FA.
Ingles is cooked.

Maybe I'll put that in my sig, so it doesn't have to be corrected ten times a day.
Anyone know how far below the cap we are after this? Hopefully we still have a little bit of room to take advantage of similar salary-shedding efforts by teams before the deadline.

We can also take on longer term salary if we don't have the cap room, given our expirings.
It would be incredible to get another 2014 pick, I think we should go all in on the draft rather than keep cap space for future free agent signings. You can always use an asset to clear space or executive a sign and trade if we needed that last free agent space.

With this trade we are about at 52 mill, so we are 5 under. I see us resigning DeMarre and Tinsley, we will be lean. What will our roster be at 12-13 players?
