#5 - 15 best players post Stockton/Malone

#1 Deron Williams
#2 Rudy Gobert
#3 Donovan Mitchell
#4 Andrei Kirilenko

Some players will overlap with Stockton and Malone, but the criteria is simply that they spent a majority of their careers outside that context. In the offseason maybe we can do another series based on the best Jazz players ever, which we have done before.

Please nominate the next player to go on the list, and let me know if they should replace someone already on it!

This is where I think it gets really interesting, we have three guys who I think all are good choices: Hayward, Boozer, and Millsap. I went Hayward, but could be swayed.

I actually would take DFavs over Hayward. DFavs was a great player for multiple years. He had a sweet jump shot, good defender, and great rebounder for his size.

I go with Boozer. I know he's a lightning rod for criticism but he was a 20-10 guy for the Jazz (19.3ppg, 10.5rbs, 2.9ast and 1stl) and the main scorer and rebounder on a contender and a team that made the WCF. The guy was real good, and Gobert, Mitchell and Hayward have yet to move past the second round.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Let's gonna face it, we went to WCF in 2007 due to epic failure of Mavs in first round.

I think we were way better in 2008, but we lost vs Lakers.

Boozer was great (as Okur) but Deron was the soul and leader of that group.

Sure, but we already voted for Deron and he's on the list. As for getting to the WCF due to the Mavs' failure - you have to take advantage when an opportunity presents itself. This current Jazz team had its opponents decimated by injuries and they still can't advance past the second round. Also, that Jazz team was legitimately good.

Not much of a fan, especially when he had the nagging, "no show" injuries. At the time, I probably still had the Superstar "Never miss a game" mentality of Stockton and Malone, so Boozer missing so many games caused his popularity to dwindle. That being said, his production was top drawer when he played, so he gets my vote. I really loved Memo and could be swayed to go that way, Haywuss will never get the respect he feels he should have bc of how to left. Good player not top 5 in post Stockton-Malone era in my book.

Haywood over Boozer, IMO. Carlos' D (and injuries) nearly cancelled out his offense on a lot of nights.
