Here is the place to talk about...well, anything! Whether you've seen a good movie and want to talk about it (or seen a bad movie and want to vent),read a good book, found a new band you like, tasted a new beer, got your ass beat in NBA 2K17, then rage-quitted and are looking for a new PC\console game to sink your time into, or all of the above in this or some other order, this is the place for such topics and more. Standard forum rules apply.

Two extra rules:

1. No politics or religion. If you want to talk about these issues, there are other threads on RealGM for that.

2. Anyone--and I mean anyone--who happens to mention the Black Eyed Peas suck, gets an automatic, mandatory And 1, no exceptions. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY APPLIES.

Enjoy.

Since I cant put this on the Hayward thread :D

I've watched John Dies At The End a few years back. I really liked it, it was original and funny. Just got around to finishing the book which is also pretty good but stretches too long imho. It does have its moments though.

Recently got back into playing pickup and am shocked at what's going on. Every game is 5 Steph Curry's vs 5 Steph Curry's. Everyone is pulling up from 5+ feet behind the line after a series of dribble moves with no one around them. Never thought I'd be one of those people, but Curry has ruined the game for me.

But are they making the shot? Cause it's not a good shot if you only make it 15% of the time.

Maybe one player each game. Whoever has the best rebounder wins the game because 90% of the points come off of putbacks from their bricks. It's honestly insane. They'll go 0-15 and keep shooting from 5-10 feet behind the line to try and look cool.

That basically describes all my pick up game experience. With my friends I always valued rebounding the most because it lead to me getting putbacks. I had a friend in high school who was getting offered scholarships to play in college and I was able to win most of the 21 games we played simply by rebounding, playing good defense, and being a good free throw shooter. It would drive him, and my other friends who were better 1 on 1 players than me, insane I would win. I'm pretty old and fat now so I am probably not getting many rebounds. I could probably fat guy box out some people though.

Thats they way it was for awhile, but I just joined a mens over-30 league in Maryland, and it's back to being fun again. Lots of ball movement, getting a good shot etc. Depends on your teammates of course but opposing teams are similar.

Instead of calling "Curry" from behind the arc, call out "CJ!" as it bricks.

Things will change.

I always yell Reggie or Allen for 3's, and Duncan for off the glass.

Love The Smiths. My contribution, probably my favorite song of theirs:
