Here's JT Thor from Auburn. Really nice 3D big. Start Mitchell and Royce in the backcourt. Play Bogey at the 3. Play Thor at the 4 and Gobert at the 5. Size, toughness and defense are solved. Bring Conley, Clarkson, Ingles and Favors off the bench.

I see more Marvin Williams, but I loved Marvin. Think Trey Murphy will be out of our range but could see us move up a few spots.

I think I'm in on Roko Prkacin. He's participating in the NBA Combine this week, so we'll know more about his measurables.

I say this every year, but..... the NBA as a league is dominated by the 6'8" / 220-lb. triple-threat wing. The reason is because they can do everything. They can defend multiple positions, grab a rebound, drive the ball, get to the rim, get an open look from 3pt, get a look from mid-range, and get in the key and make almost any pass on the floor. The game is just made for this type of player.

Look at Gordon Hayward. His dribble was pretty basic. His first step was pretty average. He was a good shooter, not a great shooter. He was a good passer, not a great passer. He could get to the rim, but he wasn't a skywalker. But Hayward impacted every play because he was that prototypical 6'8" / 220-lb wing with ball skills.

The Jazz haven't had that since Hayward left, and that's the guy I'd want to put on the floor between Mitchell and Gobert. Right now, Ingles is kind of a middling imitation of that player. The Jazz need a real one if they want to make the Finals.

I think it's possible for Prkacin to become that kind of Gallinari-like big wing. I think he has the physical talent. It just needs to be developed more. The key is his shooting and playing in pick-and-roll.

I was comparing Murphy to Khris Middleton the 21 year-old junior entering the draft, not the All Star version of today.

Middleton was a nice ball handler and initiator even in college. Obviously not what he is now, but I don't see much of that with Murphy.

Marcus Bagley has physical tools. Mental tools, who knows? I feel like Trey Murphy may be passing him in the draft order.

I might be in on Ayo Dosunmu. I've got Mann, Springer and Dosunmu on the shortlist of guards for the Jazz.

We all did. The Jazz lost to the Clippers in 6 games. 8-)
Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I kind of like Wieskamp. I thought he was the best player at Iowa and he just had some pretty great measurements at the combine.

If he is there at 30 then we can't pass on him. If I'm the jazz I'm doing everything I can to snag Mann, Wieskamp and Bagley. All 3 of them. The two teams to talk to are obviously the rockets and thunder. The thunder have 5 picks in the top 36 and I doubt they use more than 3 of them.

Jazz will need to take a hard look at Brandon Boston from UK. He was a top-7 recruit coming out of high school and had a mediocre freshman season. He was recruited by UK, Duke, Auburn and Florida. In some ways, his situation is a bit similar to Jaden McDaniels' last year. Boston is a 6'6" / 190-lb wing with some handle, wiggle and touch. He can score in a variety of ways and also break the paint and make a play with the pass. Defensively, he has some length and good anticipation in passing lanes.

If the Jazz believe in their development program, this guy may be worth taking a swing on. We'd have him for 4 years on late-1st rookie-scale. Not sure we'd have a chance to draft anyone more dynamic at #30.

Alperen Sengun, Beskitas looks great. Damn it! How do I go from "Don't draft back up centers" to "Go draft Sengun" now? Incredibly skilled, athletic... fluid with ball in his hands. Doesn't shoot 3s but shoots 80% from FT so an NBA team might like the potential there. No idea about his defense.

Sengun is going lottery, and yes, he is very, very impressive. If we did draft a backup center, my god Jericho Simms will immediately be the most explosive center in the league.

Two interesting guys:
(1) Jason Preston: looked kinda slow in college but looked really athletic at the combine playing in 3:3 drills.
(2) Delano Banton: moves a lot like Boston, but has a super interesting skillset in terms of passing.

Bones Hyland says he's worked out for the Jazz.
Jazz have reportedly interviewed Miles McBride.
Jazz have also reportedly shown interest in Tyson Etienne, a 6'2" guard from Wichita State, and are trying to schedule a workout.

So...small combo guards, that is who we are bringing in. To be fair, I think McBride and Hyland have a great chance of both being steals in the draft, so I don't hate it if you feel either is BPA, but I'm not sure either is a great long-term fit next to Mitchell. No idea about Etienne.

An interesting prospect, though probably a couple years away from making a significant contribution.

Bleijenberg is reportedly 6'10" / 208 lbs with a 7'2" wingspan. Still only 20 y.o., I think. I'd be on board with him at #30. I think Springer, Murphy and Thor are likely to be gone by then.

FWIW, I would bet the Jazz could swing a deal with Houston for one of their picks in the 20s. Jazz would probably move Azubuike + #30 (or a future 2nd) to move up to #23.

Azubuike according to the jazz was the 2nd player in the entire draft on their board. If true. I find it hard to believe they dump him to move up 7 spots.
