No it doesn't. Another absolutely horrible idea from an average coach and a bad gm. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the draft except some people just like to complain for sake of complaining. The nba has never had parity and it never will have true parity because star players have a larger impact in basketball than any other sport. With these new supermax contracts though we will begin to see salary's come back to scale for role players because star players are now able to take such a large portion of the cap so I think you will see far fewer players relocate via free agency.

I haven't seen a good argument as to why having a draft is better for parity. Everybody is acting like it would be the death of small market teams, but I don't think they have taken 10 minutes to think about it. I get it, everybody loves the draft, but the reward structure in the NBA is stupid. If you do more with less, you are punished for it. If you do less with more, you are rewarded for it.

The supermax is a drop in the bucket. Until they remove the max altogether the NBA will continue to have the least parity among the major sports. It doesn't matter if star players have larger impacts if you can pay them for their impact. The lack of parity isn't a basketball issue. It's a money issue.

Kyle Kuzma is what Trey Lyles was supposed to be... and he was taken at the end of the first.

I like Kuzma more than any of the Lakers other young players.

Milos showed off his passing tonight. It's a shame the pieces never fell in place for him to come to Utah.

He's 31 past his prime rookie. What's the upside for Utah? He wouldn't make the Jazz a contender. So what's the big regret here?

Milos is a joy to watch. If there was a scenario which it made sense for him to play for us, I would have loved it. But like I said, the pieces didn't fall into place.

It doesn't sound like the Warriors' Big Four is breaking up any time soon.

http://nba.nbcsports.com/2017/10/02/celtics-jaylen-brown-says-trading-thomas-changes-the-whole-dynamic-the-whole-culture/

“It changes the whole dynamic, the whole culture. We’ll see if it’s for good or bad, time will tell. But it’s still a little weird to me, to be honest, because when I came in everything they stressed was culture, environment, Celtic basketball. Now, it’s like what is the environment, the culture, what is Celtic basketball? I think it’s a great opportunity for me, great opportunity for the Celtics, great opportunity for Kyrie. Obviously, I loved Isaiah. He was like a big brother to me. I watched him, admired him, the chip he carried on his shoulder I love him. I still do. I’ve kept in contact with him. Congratulated him when he got traded to the Cavs. It’s tough because it’s the business we live in. Do I agree with it? Not necessarily. I think Isaiah definitely tried to plant his flag in Boston. He will definitely be missed—he and Jae [Crowder] both."

Jaylen doesn't sound very enthused about the new Celtics. LOL. I bet Kyrie is amazing teammate... like... you know... the type that will not want the second best player in history on his team. What a shocker. If only someone knew something like this would happen.

It seems like IT, his defensive deficiencies notwithstanding, was respected and beloved by fans and teammates alike in Boston. I guess he was the heart and soul of the team and cannot quickly be replaced. Following the trade for Kyrie, even Gordon Hayward commented in front of Kyrie that IT was a big factor in Hayward's recruitment to Boston.

Jaylen is a really smart kid. Engineering student and chess champ (I think?). He's one of those players you should listen to when they talk.

Rudy didn't even make this author's snubbed list. That is going to light a fire under Gobert.

In Lowe's new podcast - he's been hearing A TON of teams moaning and groaning about the lottery reform change. They are saying they didn't want the change but they had to fall in line. Lowe was like "I don't want to hear it, you had the chance to vote against" and van Gundy said he's been in such meetings and he can tell him why they voted against their interest - because otherwise there would have been repercussions.

I don't know what kind of repercussions he's talking about, but it's sad if this is the point where we've reached... small market teams being bullied to vote against their interest because of fear that the league will strike them and punish them in other ways.

Now that we changed our medical staff: https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/247584/Chris-Bosh-Hasnt-Ruled-Out-NBA-Return

Chris Bosh anyone? Damn he'd be so good with Rudy.

I don't know. An improved medical staff makes a difference when dealing and preventing injuries, or maybe even in reducing the time a player is out. But in Bosh's case, he could just freakin' die and the medical staff wouldn't be able to do anything about it. This isn't a medical staff issue imho.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.
