I think this says a lot about paying big $$$ to 1 or 2 guys that used to be superstars and now are good and surrounding them with smaller contract (lower tier) players.

Cavs fire Bickerstaff.

Is this a sign that they are making Donovan Mitchell happy and that a contract extension is more of a possibility than thought a few days ago?

Why would this make Donny happy? Not arguing but wondering.

I think there will be a lot of trades and star/star-adjacent movement this offseason. A lot of teams need and are looking to make changes. Cleveland is one of them. Garland might ask out if Mitchell extends, and Allen may also be moved.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

So the issue for Utah is that these teams are only looking to trade their stars for other stars as no one is looking to rebuild.

The Pels want to trade Brandon Ingram, but not for picks, but for a really good center.
The Hawks want to trade Trae Young or Dejounte Murray, but not for picks, but for a really good wing.
The Cavs want to trade Garland and Allen for really good wings.
Jimmy Butler will probably be traded for a really good perimeter player who is near Bam age wise.

We could be looking at a situation where these guys all end up traded for each other.

I see the Hawks valuing a C more than anything on the trade block. They could sign OG in the off-season with some help from a team that wants Trae or Murray.

At least Minnesota finally got bounced. We'll see how things shape up but this may have been the highest they'll go with this roster, and the financial crunch will start next season. And the good thing is that when the time comes for them to build a new team around Edwards with their cap space in 2026-2027, they will still have $124 tied to only 3 players (Ant, McDaniels and KAT) and Minnesota is not a free agent destination.

Congrats to the Celtics on the championship. Ainge had a lot to do with building that team and their two best players are former #3 picks, which is something I assume and hope Ainge is aware of. Don't know if the Jazz are planning to move up in this draft but in general, enough with going for the 8-10 picks. Commit to a direction and execute accordingly.

While that's true, don't forget the Salary Cap will get a decent bump once that new TV deal kicks in......
