Skal and Maker have squared up plenty of times in the past, and the every report you can find has Skal ahead.

Skal manhandled Maker in NHS practices according to reports and in the game. There is a video of 1-on-1 on youtube of them playing against eachother. Maker can't get anything against Skal.

Maker proving that not playing is a surefire way to improve draft stock. If Skal did not play last season, he would be a top 3 pick for sure.

If they let him declare last year, he would have been a top 3 pick coming out of HS. Besides Towns I don't think anyone else would have been a clear cut favorite to go before him.

Probably. He's might be even more impressive than Porzingis in the right setting...Also a reason why I think a team nabs him up before #12.

Maker at 12 is a worse reach than Bruno Cabacolo. Take luwawu or furkan

I'm surprised Skal is winning and some went with Maker. Do you think you are trading one of your bigs? I thought you would have wanted a PG in case the ones you already drafted don't pan out or a shooter like Korkmaz.

It's cuz I've been pimping him relentlessly for the last month :P

We don't really 'need' any position right now. We have young beasts or high level young talent at every position, and at some of them we have multiple options, so we can afford to just pick BPA and not worry about filling holes in the draft. So no, we are not looking to trade our bigs, I just think Skal has the highest upside in the long run and I'd be willing to take a chance on him.

You are right that PG is our weakest position from production stand-point, but again, they seem to be content with giving Exum the chance to lead the team and a rookie drafted in late lottery of a poor draft is not very likely to improve your PG game, even if Exum doesn't play great.

I guess that makes sense. I know some are extremly high on Baldwin and also some on Dejounte Murray. I've heard both have enough talent to be lottery picks at times.

Ya, I think it's more of taking the best player available than drafting for need.

Skal it is. Thanks for playing and good luck in the draft.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

You managed to find a video of the two most disappointing players from this years draft, well done.

In what sense are they the two most disappointing players? I mean Maker hasn't played much against good competition. You can call Skal disappointing in college indeed. Or do you mean you'd be most disappointed if we draft either?

Kwame Brown was the #1 pick once.

Both

Look I want to believe the hype, but I am seeing way too many red flags with both guys.

At this point the hype is going the other way. I actually think I'm going against the grain with Skal and Maker. They are hyped on youtube vids, but draft experts seem to value them much lower than I do, which is alright, I might be completely wrong, but we all have some unpopular opinions every now and then, otherwise posting on forums would be really boring.
