The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I was really looking forward to watching him explode on the scene like Blake Griffin his rookie. The good news is that I think pelicans have the depth to overcome this injury with Melli likely stepping in as the starting 4 which should be a good thing for Favors.

If I were the Pels I will just tell him that I won't play him until he meets some criteria that their medical/training staff calculates is safe for him to play at. This is no joke. That's like 3 knee injuries in the span of what? 6 months? He's lucky they haven't been more serious.

For Jazz, it's 52, 52, 51 and 53.5 wins respectively. If limiting win projections to just Caesars LasVegas, the Jazz would finish number two in the West behind Houston's 54 wins.

This is what their guru Bill Simmons has been telling them since they signed him. Every single player Boston signs suddenly becomes world beater and every single player they get rid off suddenly reveals some previously unknown flaws.

The Sacramento Kings say second-year forward Marvin Bagley III will miss 4-6 weeks with a nondisplaced fracture of his right thumb.
According to the team, Bagley suffered the injury in Wednesday's season-opening loss to the Suns. He started and played 28 minutes, scoring 14 points. An MRI determined the extent of the injury.
Bagley, the former Duke star, averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds last season. The second overall pick in the 2018 draft, he finished seventh in NBA Rookie of the Year voting.

Hate to see guys hurt, but we will be playing the Kings this Saturday night without Marvin Bagley lll in their lineup.

Mike Conley's first two games in a Jazz uniform couldn't have been much uglier, as he misfired on all but four of his 27 field goal attempts and had almost as many turnovers (six) as assists (eight). Not that anyone with the Jazz was worried about the point guard's fit in Utah at that point. Conley looked like himself in Saturday's blowout of the Kings, when he had 12 points and eight assists. The Jazz hoped that Conley's arrival would benefit Donovan Mitchell, and the early returns on that are positive, with the young star guard averaging an efficient 23.7 points (68.1 true shooting percentage) in the first week. -- MacMahon
