Since the Jazz declined the options on Bolmaro and Azubuike, it's pretty clear that they will be free agents next summer that the Jazz will pass on. The Jazz will probably use 1 of their 3 draft picks on a center to replace Azubuike.

N. Alexander-Walker has a $7,073,602 qualifying offer for NEXT SEASON that the Jazz will almost certainly DECLINE to offer, because the Jazz don't want NAW to accept a 1 year $7 Million offer and the Jazz won't mind losing the right to match salary on any contract NAW signs elsewhere. NAW is probably the 3rd player gone next summer.

That's your 3 open roster spots for 3 draft picks.

Since Beasley's 2024 salary of $16,524,106 is NOT GUARANTEED, it's also possible that the Jazz waive Beasley next summer and simply allow him to be a Free Agent. Beasley is the 4th possibility for an open roster spot next summer.

That is all true. Guess it just means the Jazz have even more options than I thought. Would like to see Beasley get a new long term contract at a better price if the Jazz can keep him and he is willing to sign a 4/60 or something like that. With salary increase he probably will want more though.

Sooooo ...... any guesses who is the #1 seed in the West at this point?

Despite the potential long term help it could provide, it's hard to justify blowing up/tanking a team currently playing the best ball in the conference, and who is also entertaining AF to watch. IMO, the next 10 games or so will determine a lot, regarding how the Jazz FO handles the rest of this season.

So, if the Lakers came around and offered those 27 and 29 picks and RW for a package of our vets, does Ainge even take that deal right now?

If we were instead to use one of the picks to "bolster" our team, who is traded and who do we seek, in other words, where is our obvious weakness?

I'd say: proceed with the same tanking method to the end of season and through play-off. Because it is very novel and refreshing way to tank.

Tanking is crapshoot anyway. The way the team is performing now any talk of tanking is silly, nonsense.

Sit back, try to make it as far as you can and enjoy the ride.

I like the quote- it makes me chuckle. And it was/is pretty much true.

I think you have to ride this wave and see how far it takes you. Then hope the teams whose picks the Jazz own do poorly this year. It would be really hard to out-tank the Lakers and Rockets this year anyway.

Well, here's a tidbit to consider that actually demonstrates Ainge and Justin Zanik's brilliance.

You traded a 1rst Round Pick to OKC with Top 10 Protection in 2024 and 2025, and Top 8 in 2026, otherwise you keep it.

Besides Minnesota's 2023, 2025, 2027 1rst's, and 2029 Top 5 Protected 1rst (otherwise a 2nd Round Pick);

You have swap Rights in 2026 with Minnesota and Cleveland. In 2026, if your pick has not conveyed yet, and is outside the Top 8, OKC gets hit. If it's inside the Top 8, swapping may not move you much. But if the pick to OKC conveys in 2024 or 2025, then your swap right in 2026 could be worth a lot if Minnesota goes bad, and there is a good chance they do since they don't have any picks to offer in trades.

Winning is too precious commodity to throw away. If the lottery had the old odds of 25% for the #1 pick, tanking might still be in the discussion. The Jazz will fortify their team here on out using their draft picks and spending power. In 2024/2025, the Jazz will be like $100 million under the cap. Before you say no one will sign with the Jazz, they could also use that space via trade, like how they acquired Conley. Trading for a disgruntled star on some team who is locked up for 3-4 more years (SGA?)

Uncle Danny is pleasantly surprised of Jazz early season winning.
Most important thing in this situation is now stay cool and give to this team fair chance to show how far they can go.

If Jazz is still playoff hunt in March 2023 then bring in two or three players with playoff experience.
But if there isn't any good trade available then take that 1st round playoff exit and do necessarily moves next off season.
