when new orleans came back to the league the possibility was put out there but i remember larry h. being asked about it and he said it would never happen not only because he is hooked on the name but also the hassle it would cause due to all of the merchandise and everything else, think about it the jazz play half there games on KJZZ!!

Maybe, but Delta was about bankrupt at the time and couldn't really give the Jazz anything to keep the name. However couldn't he find anything better than Energy Solutions?

Why do so many Utah companies have a business model that revolves around annoying and ripping off family and friends?
I've noticed that. Wouldn't it be cool if we named the arena after some porn website. I'd put examples but I dont want to get banned.

Just about every sports arena is named after a corporate sponsor. That is the reality of professional sports and the money involved. Energy Solutions Arena is fine. I personally don't get too wound up about what company sponsors it. As long as they don't call it the Pizza Hut and put that red lid on the building I'm okay.
On the name change, there has been lots of discussion over the years. The move from New Orleans was not done on good terms and the owner (Sam Battistone sp?) wanted to keep the name so that when the team was successful they would know this was the same team that New Orleans treated so poorly. Now there is too much history to change. Look at the Bullets/Wizards. That took years before people could stand that name change not to mention I wonder how much connection there is between the "old" Bullets teams and the "new" Wizards teams.

"Larry Miller might as well make money off the team name. How about the Utah Toyotas or Utah Nuclear Waste (after arena name) or Utah Sloans or Utah Stockton to Malones....no no best name ever...
UTAH Harpings (on everyone's uniorm we can have Matt's High School Football Picture)"
What about the "Utah Mountain Dew Ford F-150 Beef Supreme Thunderdome"?
