Haha nevermind, guess they were just talking out of their ass as usual

I love Joe. I hope we get him back in the summer on a vet min deal. Weirdly enough I like this deal more in the long-run than in the short term, although... it's better to have players that might play than injured ones guaranteed to not play. The compensation(2 seconds) is reasonable I guess. I think we get out of luxury tax too?

This deal doesn't get the Jazz out of luxury tax - you send out $14.5M (Ingles and Hughes)
You bring in NAW at $3.2M + Juancho Hernangomez at $6.9M (Damn!!! Who is that guys agent?)

I can see this deal as a precursor to another deal

With this deal, I think we are officially out of running for Jerami Grant. Not sure who else would be that wing we need that would still be available.

I've wanted him on the team since before he blew-up, but I don't think Grant wanted to play with the Jazz, based on what has been reported he desires.

I think the Ingles trade actually opens up more options, not closes them.

For example: Barnes is still a possibility. Clarkson + Hernangomez + 1st?

Yeah I have a feeling Jazz isn't done yet. With Butler and Forrest performing well, JC somehow became expendable

I bet they trade Clarkson and salary dump Juancho.

This could be right, I think we may flip NAW because he’s still a young prospect.

I think they were able to get NAW for a couple of likely really late picks (in the 50s) is because they were willing to take on Juancho's money. Which it's not the worst thing to have an actual power forward on the roster and I'm starting to think he may stick.

We're old and asset-depleted. We need young prospects. I think we keep NAW.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I think the Jazz have too many rotation players right now. I'd expect the Jazz to make another move.

Rumor that Spurs in talks to send Poeltl to Hornets for PJ Washington and Kai Jones and potentially a 1st!

I wonder if we could offer Hassan, filler (Hernanagomez or Gay) and forego the first for those two?

Hornets were smart and traded for Harrell instead.

So much for adding a big wing… This felt like an asset collection move for the summer, hopefully.

I'm sure the team looked at options to add another viable wing defender, but just couldn't get the right deal done.

Perhaps the team getting a wake up call over that terrible 15 game stretch, learning to play better when Gobert is out of the game, fresh legs of their 2 stars (DM looks great the last couple games!), adding NAW, and the emergence of Paschall + Forrest, will be the kind of change the team needs. Tying to have faith here. It's possible! The roster is talented enough.

They're both inefficient on offense, but I think NAW is at least a neutral defensive player, which is an improvement over Clarkson.

To really upgrade the defense, the Jazz would have needed to get a defender like Lu Dort, Mathisse Thybulle or Marcus Smart. Yes, Jerami Grant would have been very cool, but it sounds like the asking price was just too high.

Short of that, Trent Forrest, Eric Paschall and Danuel House are decent.
