If we're not going for a KZ or Bembry I'm perfectly fine with Hernangomez on the roster. I think he has some tools that can be utilized in a system like ours.

I've been watching some more tape of NAW. One of the main issues is that the Pels have been playing him primarily at PG when he's really a 2-guard. He shoots much better when he doesn't need to be the primary ball handler, when he can get his feet set, and when he can set up his drives with the right angles and timing. He had good numbers as a rookie, but that was when the Pels had Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball to share the ball-handling duties.
After the Pels traded away Jrue and then Lonzo, they started depending on NAW too much to create a lot in an offense with very little structure and mediocre talent around him. He looks overwhelmed. He's been forcing plays, whether that's forcing passes in the paint or taking tough contested mid-range jumpers off the dribble. He's going to look a lot better with someone else handling the PG duties, so he can play on the wing. He won't be relied upon as the primary creator or scorer. He'll also be able to lock in on defense.

I think Ingles will most certainly remain socially active with Jazz players, but I seriously doubt he could use Jazz facilities and Jazz personnel for rehab. Seems like that would be tampering. By the way, the Portland Trailblazers have expressed an interest in re-signing Joe after his contract expires.
Personally, I am not all that excited about re-signing Joe next summer, thinking that we need younger, more energetic players out there. When both Gay and Ingles on the court, we look old and slow imo. However, I would be interested at re-signing Joe at the one year veteran minimum. I would also be very enthusiastic about Ingles returning to the Jazz team in another capacity like coach or announcer.

Here's an example where in NAW's highlights he's playing off the ball. He's a guy who CAN play point guard if necessary, but he's not a high-level point guard. It would be like playing Tyler Herro or Alec Burks at point guard, imo.

Joe has stated over and over and over again. If he's not playing basketball he's going back to Melbourne. It's fun to think of him as a coach or announcer but he has no plans to do thatCrunch 99 wrote:TNJazz wrote:Ok, Here's a "Hmmm..." thought.Spoiler:

ok ..... so it's not a large sample size, and I 100% admit I thought he was more likely to be cut than to get 1 minute of PT... but Juancho has already grown on me as a player who the Jazz not only can use, but actually NEED. He's the energy guy the team has been missing. He also has size at the PF spot, which is lacking in the starting unit. No knock on NAW, who I think can develop into a pretty good player, but for this season, Juancho is the player the player in this trade who can help the Jazz more, IMO. Hoping his energy is contagious and pushes others to play harder. 10mpg of high energy, decent D, and the ability to knock down 3's at a respectable rate for a big. Not bad for a "throw in player".

Yep, was always high on Juancho. Guess that movie pushed him to perform better lol
Perfect fit next to Gobert in the starting lineup. Question is, who would you bench?
But yeah Whiteside, Hernangomez, Gay, Clarkson, Forrest is a solid 2nd unit

I’d bench O’Neale or Conley.
Ingles is cooked.
