I hope that the Jazz got a good indication of whether Clarkson is really interested in re-signing with the Jazz this summer. If not, then there is a clear path to trading him. If he does want to return, it gets more complicated, but personally, I think that the Jazz should be sellers at the deadline regardless.

It seems that every time I am critical or question a player, they go off. Who should I throw shade at next, lol?

Do Agbaji next.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Some more context about why it is in Clarkson's interest to test free agency:

Jordan Clarkson is not considered a trade candidate at this time, as Utah would like to keep the veteran scorer beyond this season, sources said. The Jazz, though, are prohibited by CBA rules from offering Clarkson a contract extension in his desired range of $20 million of average annual value, and Clarkson appears set to reach unrestricted free agency.

Listening to The Monty Show, so take this with a gran of salt, but they open the show saying that Clarkson has asked the Jazz to be traded to a contender.

The description of the video says:

Monty & Jake are talking Utah Jazz Basketball, and the difficult position the Utah Jazz find themselves in with Utah Jazz Star Jordan Clarkson. Jordan Clarkson, the most popular player on the Utah Jazz, has asked to be traded to a NBA title contender because the Utah Jazz can not offer Jordan Clarkson anything near his market value in free agency.

Let's see if news of this will come out soon and corroborate it.

Haha, I think that he has been doing great for a rookie with low expectations. Good idea to jinx him up, though. I will have to look for flaws.

The last ten games, Clarkson is averaging 24 ppg on 16.8 fga on 63 TS%. Clarkson has had some very hot stretches in years' past, but this is the best I have seen him play. He is putting up these numbers against starters and has been scoring well in fourth quarters when opponents tighten up their defense.

That Clarkson is arguably still improving as a player is a boon whether the front office decides they need to trade him or decides they would be able re-sign him in the summer. For any contenders looking for offensive help at the trade deadline, Clarkson should rank high on a list of targets.

Send back draft compensation and short contracts. Seems reasonable
